Want: Filson Macinaw Vest

I absolutely love wool and grey is it's best color. Vests, jackets, coats, hats, socks, everything in grey wool. This vest is one of my favorites as well. It's not a new product, it's been around for years but I want it right now more than ever. I also would like one of these in the classic red and black plaid, but this grey wool would especially go nice with all of the white and navy I'm wearing these days. I'm still a little unsure on Filson's sizing so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on eBay even though the price might be better then right. I think I might go with the medium and hope for the best.

I received this vest for Christmas. The fit on it is absolutely amazing, fit exactly true to your suit size. It the best fitting piece of clothing I've ever obtained. I am living in it. You really must order it.
The chest sizes for Filson are as follows:
XSmall 34-36 inch
Small 38 inch
Medium 40-42 inch
Large 44 inch
XLarge 46 inch
You can also get extra long in these vests which are 1.5 inches longer.

I've been visiting in-laws in Seattle this past week and been down to the flagship store twice to drool over this and the mackinaw cruiser (and their luggage and everything else). I'd say the sizes run slightly large, but are pretty true to the measurements noted above. Nothing like the feel of serious wool. Happy hunting.

Haha, I know...I think there is 2 actually....
I got one in black/charcoal plaid that I like alot. Got mine in my normal "suit size", and it works well. If you want it fitted on just a shirt, I recommend sizing down one, especially if length isnt an issue.
i think the fact you buy it with extra length might be a good bet
I bought this in a size 36 and it is one of the most well constructed garments I own. I got the dark grey color. I sized down one for this item and it is still not super tight.
