Fine English Socks

I have actually been searching for some solid bright red wool socks for a few days online with no luck. I want to get some that I can wear with my oxfords and potentially tuck some trousers into. However, I haven't found any online but I did come across a couple nice pairs of pattern socks that I would be happy to wear right now too. I am still not super excited about wearing socks because I enjoy the feeling of the leather on my feet, but if you must, then why not wear something that does more than just keep your feet warm. I particularly like the argyle pattern with red, green and navy. I think the colors are pretty much my favorites right now and go perfectly with gray pants. The socks seem to be good quality, but not super cheap at 9 English pounds a pair.

Available here.

Happy Socks! They're combed cotton, not wool, but they come in great colours and patterns. $10/pair at IE.

over-the-calf is the only way to go for fit, form and function. I recommend Turnbull & Asser.

Why not try some nice cashmere socks from Johnston's of Elgin? Soft, warm and quite cheap. Normally there are a lot of pairs floating around on ebay.co.uk...

I wouldn't recommend Happy Socks, though I have some pairs myself - the quality isn't nothing compared to Pantherella, Burlington etc etc.

Cheers

I am not too big a fan of Happy Socks personally. Johnston's of Elgin might be worth checking out. There are a number of brands making something nice enough, but I am looking for something thick and red right now.
