I have always had a bit of an obsession with sea fairing gear. Whether it be brass clocks, wooden beams or pea coats. I haven't yet dug deep into the culture to find out all of the interesting history but I will I'm sure. In them meantime, one of the best and most wearable pieces inspired by the sea is the stripped shoulder button sweater. Especially in a navy and white color way, it feels like you could go shopping, walk down to your row boat and take out the yacht for a weekend. The sweater is subtle, has a nice reference and looks good. I used to not love the shoulder button feature too much but have since come around in the last year or so. SNS Herning and A.P.C. have two of the best versions I've seen on the market right now. While navy, cream and white are the best colors, I have noticed a soft red and green seem to be usually in the mix as well. The sweater looks great with denim, chinos and work pants. I guess whatever pants sailors where would work well too.

Saint James has been killing it since 1889. They have just about every piece in nautical stripes...

They have a low key store uptown near Barbour by Peter Elliot and the Ralph Lauren Mansion. We'll hit it up when you're in town. But the company that really killed it this season is J.Crew. They have a cotton shawl neck pullover in nautical stripes for their resort collection. Unfortunately it's not online...
yeh st. james for me as well jake
We have Saint James right next to Barbour stuff at Lark, if you're not in NYC....
