Thom Browne Wingtips

Thom Browne's suits have been going with thick black wingtips for a little while now. I've personally not been able to get a close look at the model he wears before they went on sale at Colette with the collection. These are definitely some beautiful looking leather shoes. Made in England, from probably the nicest leather out there - I'm only guessing. Thom Browne's collection is made all around the word. Knits from the UK, shoes from England, cottons from Sea Island, shirts made in the USA etc etc. The man is very passionate about the right materials being put together in the right places, so when it comes to the price - it's high. There is no doubt with the personal touch and attention to every detail, it will cost the consumer in the end. So here you have THE wingtips that complete and compliment your (dream) Thom Browne suit. If you can afford the suit, you might be able to get these at 1,250 Euro.

These are actually made by Trickers in Northampton England.

Thanks for the info. That was my only guess, but I didn't want to be wrong. I appreciate letting us/me know.

is there a Tricker's model comparable to these?

funny how trickers make good shoes for everyone else but their own range in england has been the same old drab for decades

I found a very similar shoe, but without the grainy leather... http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/index.cfm/Shoes-Black_Wing_Tip_234.htm

True,

I saw the old Nom de Guerre collaboration in New York and it was extremely dope. Black suede wingtip on a natural leather sole, so beautiful.

Their own stuff seems to be very dull. I guess I need to contact them for some shoes...

Trickers will make you a bespoke shoe for £1250 at the moment - of all places they're advertising this as a 'special' on ebay! (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trickers-Factory-Reject-Shop-BESPOKE-SHOES-OR-BOOTS_W0QQitemZ310113176129QQihZ021QQcategoryZ63850QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

The somewhat rare part with these shoes are that they are a longwing model. Which is something that I associate more with American style brogues.

The Loake Royal Brogue is an English classic, unfortunately the quality of the leather is not that great.

Speaking of Grenson, good sale going on at SF's Gimme Shoes: http://www.gimmeshoes.com/index.php?show=22&cPath=22&designer_id=36

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterrobbo

thom browne shoes are NOT made by Tricker's in Northampton England.

Whoever made this statement- I would like to see verification for this claim.

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterinfocollective

AZ... most people in the US/Canada have no idea what tricker's are. There is no old man stigma, because we never see them!

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJoy Division

HAHA , ok i get your point - still if you want some well made stylish english shoes and your not gray on top yet i'd avoid Trickers - for some reason i see here there and everyhere on the "E " world Internetz crew (Usually the Jap's and Americans) biggin up Trickers thinking there fresh owning some sort of English Royalty posting up pictures with there latest pair - fact is they are dull old mens shoes always have been always will be and 99 percent of these fools only copt them in the first place to jump on the internet bandwaggon.

the first pair of nice Trickers that I saw in store was the collabo that Nom de Guerre did with them a couple of years ago
