Double-breasted-ness

I am pretty much loving everything double breasted right now. I've seen a lot more of it to come for the spring and fall as well which is great news. There are cardigans and blazers galore available by classic and new designers, as well as some great vintage finds to be had. I don't know why the sudden increase in interest, but I am liking the look in all sorts of variations. Tailored suiting, pea coats and casual sport coats all look very appealing. I particularly like some of the navy inspired pieces with larger buttons and the yellow around the sleeves. The double breasted coat is definitely more traditionally a formal piece as far as I know, so making it casual enough to wear with some slacks or even denim can be a tough task. When it's done right it can look great, and there really aren't a lot of people doing it well that I've seen, so if you are successful you will definitely be ahead of the pack.

i agree. i was going to pick up a double breasted sport coat or suit coat this spring. maybe throw in a nice pair of shorts and be ready to go.

double breasted jackets are dope. just make sure to get it tailored or it might look too boxy. always looks good with a simple v-neck...
