I had a brief debate whether to post these new Nike Sportswear Blazers or not. While the content of the website has moved further away from the sneaker culture and into an interesting new mixture of high end fashion houses, to independant designers to heritage brands - sneakers will always have a special place in our hearts. Although some people debate whether Common Projects are really sneakers (which they are), they aren't in the sense of the iconic sub culture and don't fully relate to the hip hop and basketball referenences like Nike. The classic sneaker brands still are capable of making a shoe I want to wear and buy. Nike has always been my favorite brand and while they have put out a lot of bad products, they still put out the best in their market. One of my favorite models is the Nike Blazer, so when the reinvented Nike Sportswear dropped this black leather on white joint, I had to let my love free.

There will always be a time and a place for these classics.
Classic!
There's a huge difference between classic and advertising child labor with your feet. I'm not trying to say that I'm perfect, and I never touch or wear anything made by a kid in a third world country. There's a huge difference between Nikes and, I dunno, an H&M shirt. What I mean is, you have to look at the semiotics of something like the Nike Swoosh before you so proudly put it on your feet. To me at least, it speaks volumes, it brings lots of things to mind -classic is definitely not one of them.
