Jill Sander is definitely a designer I don't know a whole lot about, and that's okay with me. The shops are a bit intimidating although the products I've seen at Oki-ni look quite wearable. Anyways, it's one of those brands that's there and makes nice things, but I just don't have a personally connection. That being said, who doesn't have a personal connection to some desert boots? How about in blue suede with a white sole? Definitely not unlike Kitsune's low top rendition this spring, but I prefer the Sander version with a more muted blue and I really like the natural leather around the mid sole of the boot. While blue has been informally announced the color of this spring, I don't think I am personally going to jump into some blue footwear too quickly.

Blue shoes don't work with me. I was surprised to already see someone here locally have them (the Kitsune's) but they look like clown shoes to be honest. Jil Sander is a very beautiful brand but it is a luxury one. Jil left her company in '05 because of difficulties with Prada (they owned the brand) but now it's own again by a consortium. Jil Sander menswear is quite nice - fabric and cut is as slimmed down and minimalist (as Raf being the creative director) so it's still has his aesthetic. Quite expensive though, however that's the brand's nature.

I have to say, even though I do like Raf's work, but I really miss Jil's special touch... Things were never the same since she left, and in my humble opinion, the brand has gone down hill...
I personally love Jil Sander and I name it one of my favorite labels. The clothes are modern, artful, smart, architectural and classic, all at the same time. I also think Raf is doing a great job keeping the design legacy going on.
