This is a great find for a couple reasons, thanks to James at Secret Forts. These shawl sportsman jackets are beautiful. I was excited when I saw the red plaid on his blog but when I followed the link to find a perfect shade of grey, I feel a bit more in love. Only while scrolling through the bold Japanese type I happened to notice in all caps, "Made in Canada". Upon further inspection, a blurry tag image revealed these incredible items are actually made in Vancouver, BC - where I live. I haven't been able to find anything about the brand online but best believe the hunt is on. I am going to search this city until I can find these coats. Not only do I want one for myself, but I want to get to the bottom of these North American brands making items strictly for the Japanese market and leaving us out. I'm coming for you National Anthem.*Unfortunately their brand name is really not helping the cause in terms of searching online.

You can get a proxy for this on, like, styleforum or something
They probably ship to Canada anyhow though.
i thought you would appreciate the Vancouver connection. Good luck with the hunt.
continued success with H(Y)R.
Could the production be done by CYC?
Hah, it could be replicated by CYC I'm sure. But these seem to be more of a heritage style. I do know there are Japanese folks who have moved to Canada and know the value in their home town market and make stuff just for them. So it's hard to say where or what is going on.
These are great. I would love to grab one locally.
Damn. Don't hesitate to post infos if you do locate the Vancouver origin of these.
These are real nice a Navy one would be perfect.
any luck/progress with locating these?
I'm still interested in knowing if you've found some retailer that sells this like Carhartt at Dave's here in NYC.
best regards,
james of Secret Forts.
