Is there something wrong with me if I know the shirt isn't going to fit but I want it just as bad still? Regardless, that's what's going on in my head right now with the first of many Band of Outsiders spring arrivals at Blackbird. I'm loving these solid coloured batiste shirts which are a nice alternative to grainier oxfords. The grey is OK, the black is nice but the red is definitely my favourite. Probably not a shirt you could wear everyday, but a nice vibrant colour for spring that's surprisingly hard to find. Toss a navy linen jacket on overtop and you're set. The contrast button-hole stitching is a nice touch too. I know BoO has become extremely popular lately and I've heard that their garments aren't the best quality and whatnot which turns a lot of people off of but it's still a great label in my opinion. I just wish the shirts were longer.

yea, I spent over $300 on a shirt where the contrasting stitching threads started peeling off on the first wear.
Also he needs to realize that not every guy is a manorectic - I was always thin but these things fit tight unless you are starving and never work out. such a tired body type.
And the arm holes are weirdly placed.
There is way too much hype on this label right now.
For those prices I will buy Thom, Dries, CdG, etc - all are made better and fit normal folks.
Word up. Well said. I support hype to an extent because I do love the looks he comes with, but for me its more about the inspiration of the look books and some items because it is lackluster.

just noticed that there was contrasting stitching on the buttonholes of the shirts in the photos - if you buy one of these you might as well remove all that (believe me - it comes right out with just a light tug - immediately unless you want to be styling loose threads everywhere.
Get real Scott - cheaply made clothes are so uncool when you charge over $300 but constantly chant "I have one of the best tailors in NY working with me."
And Steve Alan and Seize sur Vingt's sportswear line "Troglodyte Homunculus" are around 150-170, made in US and Italy, respectively and are so much nicer in construction, fit and every other way. Seize's main line shirts are so beautiful and still less expensive than B of O. "BO" pretty good acronym for the brand - I am also tired of the scruffy unwashed look. [end snark]
I'm an XS in Band of Outsiders Shirts and I think their sizing is great - this is truly what sets them apart. It's very hard for guys with my body type to shirts that fit without going Bespoke.
Perhaps He can make his shirts in 2 different body type sizing.
I do agree though that there're aren't many guys with body types like myself and him (Scott).
Skinnyman, are you a 13-13.5 in the collar? I'm always looking for brands that make that size. Do you know if Band of Outsiders runs that small in the neck, or of any other good brands that do? Thanks.
Hey, Lake Vostok, JCrew xs is 13-13.5 in the collar.
hooptycritter, not starving at all, student athlete so not thin at all, and medium in BoO. And I like wearing my clothes tight, but never looked ridiculous in them.
