Really Want: Redwing Wabasha Chukka

These are probably my top choice for footwear right now that I don't have. Michael Williams picked up a pair in the fall in Japan and they have been on my mind since. Lately I've had a personal resurgence in my love for Redwing and these Wabasha chukka boots are leading the cause. I actually hadn't been wearing my 875's much in the fall and winter as I had some other boots in rotation. However the last few weeks I have worn my Redwings almost everyday. I don't care if lots of people have them, have seen them, have blogged them, or think they are 'on trend'. They are great boots and I'm happy to wear them, and that's whats important. I know I would feel the same with these Wabasha models as well, except most people wouldn't even know they are Redwings as they have been exclusively sold in Japan until this spring.

You've also been able to get the Wabasha collection in the UK for quite a while. As well as the chukka (£110), a deck shoe (£100) and 7 hole deck boot (£140) are available. Each option comes in three colours, the one you've shown, chocolate brown leather and beige suede.

If you have any trouble finding them, send me an email and I'll get you a pair.

Thanks Simon, you just signed up for the official UK proxy for h(y)r readers.

Do you know if they have the same sizing as our 'normal' Redwings?

Happy to help!!!

Sizing is always a bit of an issue with Redwing as certain models do seem to come up a bit bigger. I find 875's quite roomy but these are fairly true to size. You could go down half a size if you wanted to allow for give but it all depends on whether you like to wear them with a thick sock. I do, so I usually stick to my normal size.

So I personally wear a 9 in 875s, 10 in Vans, 42 in Common Projects. I would likely do a 9.5 in these?

Thanks for the info Simon

do you the colour shown would look best with age, as in darken in areas

You might get away with a 9 but if you take a 10 in Vans, 9.5 would probably be the better size.

Let me know if you want anymore info.

On the lifestyle catalog I have it says they are available for Spring 09 so I am only assuming they are available, if any shops bought them. I think I am going to try to get them...
