ISSUE 01 Buying Paris

Buying Paris - Issue 01

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to make it to Paris, France during men's fashion week. It was an exciting time to be in the city and it was wonderful to be able to meet some of the designers and people behind my favorite brands. I met with Kyrre Alver from Blender Agency and Secrety Society to spend the day touring some of the nicest showrooms in the city. We paid particular attention to Comme des Garcons and Visvim while we also had a meeting with Mr. Nigel Cabourn at Tranoi. The feature offers a small glimpse into some of the decisions and the process when buying for your own shop. Both Kyrre and I placed orders in Paris but the experience and company was the highlight of the day. What better way to see the city; Buying Paris.

Love the new site, but this article was pretty sloppy. The same paragraph "printed" (don't know another word to use) twice consecutively? Come on man take some time to edit, or have someone else do it. I recently stumbled on h(y)r collective/Inventory and as a new reader I don't have the best impression so far.
That being said, great selection of products. Just step up the writing.

well first of all congrats with the new site.

still gotta get used to it, especially the blog.

key /arrow control would be a nice technical feature for the magazine.

goodluck

I liked this site for the in-depth detail both on the blog and the FREE magazine. Now that detail has been put in a magazine that I have to pay for, I really don't see why I should keep dropping by, especially when other magazines do the same thing, most times even better, with writers that are way better, and even accomplished. The appeal about this site was that it was nearly magazine in-depth, but FREE and on personal level. I knew big things were gonna come out of hyr as soon as you started getting the things you wrote about and selling them to us. Could have done something truly innovative with the concepts you where working with, maybe even something pioneering. But I was hoping it wasn't going to be this. This is pretty much what slamxhype already did, except with a store. The only difference is that hyr seemed heartfelt(not saying that it isn't).

ANYway, best of luck to you and your endeavors.

You guys blow me away. Love the new look. Love the new name. Will be standing by to get a magazine in my hands. Great job!

I have to agree with the previous comments. This doesn't seem that modern of an approach. There are a lot bells and whistles, but why? The writing certainly needs some work. It just seems that you're trying to run before you can walk.

I don't understand the above comments.

I didn't see the same paragraph twice in a row as Dwayne claims to have done, so I don't know what he's on about.

Steez, you'll keep dropping by because the content ISN'T elsewhere. The New Order isn't a good magazine. h(y)r / inventory do a better job online than they (Slam X) do in print so why wouldn't you expect good things from the print magazine? If it means paying for a quality product then so be it.

Derrick comes in criticizing the writing like a regular Bill Shakespeare with lyrical genius like "This doesn't seem that modern of an approach. There are a lot bells and whistles, but why?" Perhaps it is you trying to run before you can walk.

Despite the odd spelling, or syntax error here or there, at the end of the day, this is a great blog and magazine. Show me a better one that offers real insight, caters to this aesthetic, appeals to a number of audiences, looks this good and is in English.

Excellent layout, great product selection. People might say your writing isn't the best, but it gets to the point and I believe your printed material will fill a gap in the market. good luck.

I agree that the new site looks excellent, and will certainly continue to drop by and check out the blog and magazine for the interesting content and personal touch to the writing. I also agree however, that further attention should be paid to spelling and grammatical errors throughout the site. It is obvious that INVENTORY is really trying to take h(y)r to a professional level, so the attention to detail in the writing should follow suit. This doesn't mean the personal feel has to be sacrificed.

This is something I have pointed out before in the h(y)r survey, so hopefully the constructive criticism will be taken to heart.

So I started reading hyr last week. The blog was simple and the "magazine" easy to navigate. Then today I find myself visiting Inventory, with no mention of big changes. If you guys really wanna pull of a new site and leave the other in the dust, throw us a bone, IM CONFUSED. That being said I find this new site hard to navigate. I also find it strange, considering that hyr tried to break the mold, being a free online magazine, how can you go back on that? All this new "trendy" high fashion shit was supposed to push the mold and take us forward, whats the deal?

@Tim. the reprint is on page 7. Also why is almost every other page fucked up?
