Usually when I get an item or two I wear the hell out of them for a few weeks in a row. When I feel like a certain sweater and shirt combination feel right or a particular pant and shoe come together well, I don't hesitate to wear them a couple of times in a week. Lately the EG work shirt and S.N.S Herning Naval sweater have been that combination. September and October are some of the nicest months of the year and I often like to go with a little urban camouflage to match the leaves falling around town. So the Workaday cords in tan and the J. Press socks in a dark olive green paired with the Filson wool hat definitely make me feel at home. To top off the outfit the Duluth for Inventory Items Utility Pack is perfect for this casual look and for carrying anything I'll need through the day.

I wish you posted more of these looks because they really inspire me.
Why would you wear a sweater over an EG workshirt? All the interestingness will then be hidden from sight. Or is that some kind of turn-on, I mean to know what you wear below and other people can't see?
Other than that, the outfit looks like it might work, but of course it's "muri da" because one will have to put on these clothes in order to see how they work together. For instance, I can't imagine the Workaday cords which are quite narrow at the bottom to work with those fat boots. Unless you have itty bitty feet (size 32 or something)
Agree with Patrick. Spot on.
Do you have any idea how those Red Wings fit? Is it sdfe to buy your normal size? And do you know if they will be available outside Japan? It would make things easier. Nice outfit, and the """"new" blog looks terrific!
Karl: I'll let you know how the Red Wing's fit later today when mine arrive...
D.O: I'd wear a sweater over the work shirt because it's cold out first of all. But I also find that the collar of the EG shirt fits really nicely under a crew neck and the chambray and stripes is the perfect match for me. It's not really hidding the shirt, but finding two items that work nicely together.
How do the SNS Herning sweaters fit? True to size, or not so much?
Great look, any other options for cords? The workaday ones are great, yet impossible to find. Could you recommend a reasonable subsitute, with maybe a more relaxed fit?
I like the look, infact I think I saw you rocking the shirt/sweater combo last week. I'm wearing an RRL chambay and cable knit crew today. Too cold in Vancouver to be wearing just a shirt, layers are essential here.
I'll agree with the other posts, love to see a weekly look or start up something like the walk offs we saw last year..
rb: The sweaters fit on the smaller side. I wear a medium in EG and I'm definitely a large in SNS and it's a nice fit, somewhat slim. I would go to an XL before a medium I think.
Jason: Definitely, the temp has dropped and layers are essential in Vancouver right now.
Karl: I just received the Red Wings finally - they fit true to size. I wear a sz 9 in the 875 and I got a 9 in the oxfords. They are slightly different than the ones that are set to release in Europe next spring, so these may be the only ones like this available, ever. They are slightly beefier than I thought, but not in a bad way. The interior lining is really nice, better than my other Red Wings for sure: very happy about them.

Out of interest, in what way do you think the 8103/8106 available from Rugged Shop differ to the same models being released in Europe next year?
This is the image I've seen of the European release. You can see there is a difference in the heel tab stitching. On the Rugged Museum version, there looks to be an added leather piece stitched down which the ones here don't have. On further review, that seems to be the only difference I can spot.

And the only variation I knew of on that same sole unit is the 8104, which has a different heel http://www.flisco.co.jp/redwing/lineup/8104/index.html
I did a pretty similar look today actually, nautical striped Trovata sweater over my chambray. I agree that there's no harm in hiding the work shirt, the collar is a nice change of pace from the normal oxford under sweater.
I think you might be right Ryan about the difference in heel tab. I'll see if I can get another look at the SS10 catalogue to confirm.
Yes, I would be interested to know. I haven't seen the European catalogue, so I was just going from the images I could find online. I prefer the heel tab, so I'm happy about getting the Rugged Museum pair.
Could you recommend a reasonable subsitute for the workaday cords, with maybe a more relaxed fit? Such a great colour. Good work guys, new website looks great.
rb: I don't know if this qualifies as a "reasonable" substitute, as the brands don't compare. That said I have a couple pairs of the J.Crew Slim Cords in Tobacco and Slate. Fit is decent (size down for JCrew).. I don't wear tons of cords so the price was good for me and I get a semi-comparable look.
I think that J. Crew or Uniqlo would be great alternatives. Depending on your body style and the pant, they both offer nice color options for good prices. I know the Uniqlo ones look really nice and have a good fit through the leg.
Love this look. Every piece serves a purpose and looks great. I'll be coping this look however still haven't found the right cords so I'll be sticking with dark denim for now.
By the way can Inventory do a submit Your Best Fall Look Contest? That would be a cool kick off contest for the new Branding!
Just had it confirmed, the Red Wing oxfords coming out in Europe don't have that heel tab. Nice work, you've got yourself something special there.
Our Legacy have a nice corduroy chino.

"How do the SNS Herning sweaters fit? True to size, or not so much?"
As a point of reference you may consider the model on this site: http://www.tresbienshop.net/en/grp/snsherning-all-items.php
They say he is 6'2" and wears a large. I would even size one up than their stylist does in order to accommodate a layer underneath and because I prefer the paradoxical coziness of a slightly baggy heavy knit.
I am looking forward to getting a turtleneck for winter bicycling.
