The Vans brand has had quite the history. It's always been something that I've had around and I know many of you have had a pair or two yourself. The days of Vans being made in the USA and sold out of the same building they were made in are long gone, but this video featuring Steve Van Doren sheds light and showcases some great footage on the old days at Vans. They show the process and construction of the pure crepe rubber as well as some of the four track stitching on the old Authentics. I've personally had a bit of a resurgence in Vans in my everyday wardrobe which has sparked my search for a few made in USA pairs. The shoes are so classic and the way they captured a culture and movement is pretty special. The video is definitely worth a watch and if you're like me, it will make you jump on eBay and look for some vintage Authentics.
