LOOK | Another Fall Day

Look - Another Fall day

There isn't anything too special about this outfit, but it is perfect for fall. We have seen a definite temperature drop here in Vancouver so layers of wool are essential. I'm just as fond of the red and black lumberjack as anyone and still haven't acquired a Filson Mackinaw – but the hankering has been kicked up a notch lately. Engineered Garments tab collar broadcloth shirt and wool cardigan are a perfect match and the blue tones go really nicely with the Mountain Research scarf. The South 2 West 8 cords worked nicely with the flap pockets and good buttons, and of course the colours sit nicely with the Alden Indy's from Blackbird. Finished off with our own Duluth Pack collaboration bag and you're set for another fall day.

That cardigan is a must have. Where can I find it? Great look overall.

Just curious: How do you wear your backpack? I've been using a backpack for the past month or so and have always carried it casually on one shoulder -- except when when cycling -- as it feels better than on both which ironically feels childish. Plus, Jansport backpacks and the like carried on one shoulder was a preppy trend in the '70s, which I'm all for.

Patrick - with these Duluth Packs, it's definitely a 2 shoulder hawl. I think it looks great, and definitely feels better.

The cardigan is great, the only stockist in the US was Hejfina but they are unfortunately sold out now.

The socks are by J. Press – they have a great selection for reasonable prices.

Speaking of Vancouver how about some rain or foul weather gear suggestions?

Did an outfit post today also. I woke up really early and couldn't get this vision outta my head of something involving that new wool bow tie from the stockroom. Anyway, I really want those alden indys... can't decide if i want a tougher "looking" boot tho (ie red wing chukka)

^Jack - nice look, the boe tie looks sharpe with the club collar.

jt - I have to say an umbrella is key, otherwise I will try to come up with a couple options sooner than later.

Get the Mackinaw Ryan - you won't regret it.

I have one in the charcoal grey wool, it's definitely a classic jacket that will last for years to come.

all about the alden plain toes, forget the indys.

Ryan, I love the outfit. But how do you wear the lumberjack with this?

October 29, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJohnson

i think the alden indys are getting really overplayed at this point. every blog posts about them nonstop and theyre all over sufu and styleforum...theyre great looking boots but i think theyll look pretty dumb if 4 other people are wearing them at a party...do something different. also not a fan of the stitching on the toes
