I could've used one of these yesterday. It was raining, it was windy, it was cold. Chimala, while extremely enigmatic, is always impressive to me and this coverall even more so than usual. The materials are a great mix of perfectly weighted melton wool with soft cotton lining and chambray finishing under the collar, all of which are of the highest quality. Nice design details like the use of bar tacks throughout (the orange ones on the cuffs are dynamite) raglan sleeves, wood buttons and metal eyelets under the arms give the coverall tons of personality. It's a great wool piece that would be perfect for under the parka and over the sweater. Or when it's slightly warmer out it'd be great as a jacket on its own. This one has a very good tailored fit to it which only made me want it more when I tried it on a couple of days ago.

i could use one of those too!
Collar kills. I would love too see how this fits.
I had brought a denim shirt & cotton parka before. The fabric & fit are amazing. Does anyone know more about Chimala? I haven't really heard much about them except the designer had worked in 45rpm. Chimala is pretty obscure. Not alot of stores carry. If they do, there are only 1 ot 2 items.
Did you try it at Lark, Owen? That's the only place I seem to find any Chimala online
I have a pair of Chimala jeans that are, well, delicious, to say the least.
Ya zissou,, it's the only store I've ever found it at which luckily for me is accessible.
The designer is Japanese, based in New York and she travels to Japan often to oversee production. Everything is made in Japan with Japanese fabrics.
Chimala has men's and women's collections each season.
The cuts are often unisex and the quality of the not just the fabrics, but also the finishing is absolutely amazing. The inspiration is work wear, but the main focus is comfort and quality.
Chimala is one of those brands that you either get or you don't.
Thanks Owen, and Inventory for featuring Chimala.

^Jealous! I have a trip up the northern Pacific coast on my mind, and Lark will definitely be one of my stops.
