This is probably an item I could say everyone must have. Whether you got it from your grandmother 10 years ago or from Beams+ this fall - it's an essential. Of course there are varying types of wools and colors to go with and I'm personally going to have a navy and red cap with the cable knit pattern. They are cozy, functional and just look great. It's probably the easiest thing in the world to wear. If you have a tiny head and a giant cranium, it really can't look bad. I'm undecided whether I like the ribbed cuff of the cable pattern to continue to the end, I wouldn't really mind one of each. The price isn't bad on these, however Beams+ are missing the perfect red option.

Totally with you on this. A couple of years ago I'd have said that the beanie was only ever going to be something for the skater boys, but it's really evolved in the last few years, with knitted examples like this making it a much more stylished and mainstream piece of fashion.
These hats are too long though. They certainly don't beat the J. Press ones posted a while ago.
But keep the hat suggestions coming, because I still haven't found the perfect one.
Steven Alan has a good red cashmere version.
I think owning a quality wool cap is essential. I've had many and I'm expecting my St. James version in navy to arrive any day now. CHCM has one in red also. Not cable knit like these but should do the trick of keeping the frost off my dome.
how do you order from a japanese web site tho?
you need a proxy most likely for Japanese sites...
picked up a wool watch cap from United Arrows Beauty&Youth collection. Quite nice and reasonable price.
