Band of Outsiders BD Flannel

band-of-outsiders-bd-flannel

Band of Outsiders have quietly added a slightly different cut to the collection this fall. Some of the oxford BD and flannel shirts have a slightly elongated size tag which signifies the body shape. They actually tried this a few seasons ago and it didn't quite work out, however this fall's new body shape is a winner for me. Finally a few of the shirts fit my frame a little better. Even though I wear a large as apposed to my regular medium, the slim shirting is long enough on the sides while still coming with the right size neck and wide enough shoulders. Of the patterns in this shape, the red plaid flannel is one of my favorites. It's about as classic a fall shirt as you can get and done as well as you could hope for. It's available at END and Roden Gray.

This isn't plaid flannel, it's gingham.

I just think Band shirts arent made to tuck in unless your name is Jason Shwartzman

@Patrick,

it can't be both?

:)

those faces are too mean with the eyebrows ha ha^

I didn't see the "plaid flannel" part until just now, but apparently they can be both but this is not one of them, at least I don't think so. It still could be gingham flannel though.

Gingham is a pattern (most often associated with lightweight spring/summer fabrics) whereas flannel is a fabric (autumn/winter most oftern associated with plaid patterning).

Ergo, they ain't mutually exclusive.

Well is this shirt a flannel or isn't it!?

Ya know, I've hadn't had much trouble tucking in BoO shirts myself and I'm like 6'2. I'd guess you would need to be resolved to wear your trousers on your waist rather than below it. Could be difficult if you were pretty active while wearing them. Excuse me for rambling.

October 8, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterdamien

It's made out of a soft, thick cotton that feels like flannel to me.

does the shirt still have the same backs as the other BoO's?
the chambray one on south williard looks amazing.

Damien, your torso must make up about 1/8th of your entire height

Everything Band of Outsiders makes falls apart within a couple of months. The fabric is cheap and the buttons are poorly attached. If you are going to charge this much for clothing, please ensure that it lasts longer than a season.

And from that image, it looks like they are also incapable of pattern matching...

harry it is h and m rebranded

Well, they make some attractive looking clothes and the prices aren't that bad. At least not for me anyway, being in England the exchange rate makes it's nearly half price. Plus -- I haven't tried one yet -- but the shirts look like they're cut for my body type exactly. I think people need to lighten up a bit with regards to the quality issue. How bad can it be? If a button falls off, fuck it, I'll get my Mum to sew it back on.

Paying around $200 (in my case), for a shirt that, according to Harry, possesses potential quality issues doesn't sound bad? Personally, I don't know about the quality, but I've heard similar complaints from others.

I have never had any issues with Band of Outsiders' quality. I think the error might be in the person wearing the clothing. I read that Scott Sterberg is his own fit model. He is not basing his sizes off of your average man like many brands. I am 5'6" so the clothes fit me perfectly. Sometimes I will have to let out a shirt in the back but that is the benefit of using box pleats that provide extra fabric.

if i was 5'6" i wouldn't give a fuck what i dressed like brandon

wat, very intelligent response.

Brandon= short-arse

PS: NEVER buy American products.

Charles Manson is 5, 2'

October 10, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterr4

So Brandon and Mr Manson are both short-arses then... What is the point you're trying to make? :-s

The fact remains that most clothes look better on taller physiques.

your maths is shite patrick, half price being in uk..what exchange rate you on

October 10, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterrobster

I said NEARLY half price.

1.00 USD = 0.625661 GBP

October 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPatrick

$258 for a shirt at South Willard compared to £159 at END.

What has happened to the comments here? If you have arguments to the Blog post or experience with the particular product; say it in a mature and comprehendible way. If you’re an infant just posting and complaining about the blogs leave and never come back. Every Blog has it's different focus and each one's relevance and true expertise can easily be debated, but what's the point, it's all amateurish anyways, but that's no reason to make it novice and infantile. If it's going to be crude at least make sure it's funny.
