When it comes to updating a classic, Comme des Garcons has to be one of the names that come to mind. The SHIRT collection always has some items I personally like and this fall's down version of the duffle coat is looking rather good. CDG haven't done a whole lot to the winter staple other than change the fabric, and that's all they needed to do. While I will always adore the wool version, sometimes something a little more light weight and rain resistant is necessary. It has a nice slim fit and the olive color is my favorite of the two. The jacket also isn't too brutal on the wallet at $370 before the 20% EU discount.

Great jacket you posted here always a fan of duffle coats, and tres bien's discount makes it even harder to resist.
I have heard of this discount, but never purchased anything from EU retailers. Does it apply to all shops or just a select group?
does it just have to do with VAT? i actually found out the hard way that it doesn't apply to everything when i bought stuff at Weekend in Stockholm. The retailer has to participate in the VAT refund program.
If it was made of wool, I'd cop it in a heartbeat.
I really wish there was a retailer in N.America like Tres Bien. They really have the most thorough representation of modern menswear that I've seen. I'm looking forward to ordering that one classic piece from them. I'll will probably be something like this from Comme des or that hard to get piece from one of the other quality brands they stock. Thanks.
