As many of you know the Inventory team assembled in Japan for a 10 day trip which came to an end this past weekend. What some of you may not know is that it was actually the first time Owen, Simon and I had all been in the same place at the same time. It was a very good trip overall. We had a list of shops, interviews and meetings and we hit the ground running. The response to our first printed issue was great as we toured the city in search of everything and anything. We got some great content for our spring–summer issue and managed to fit in some shopping here and there. My personal favorite shops were The Army Gym, Nepenthes, Engineered Garments, Visvim, Beams Plus, B Yoshida, Rugged Museum and Neighborhood. The aesthetic and atmosphere at each shop was incredibly well put together and really communicated the brands better than I've seen at home. It was definitely an eye opening experience from a retail perspective. The pure volume was unreal and was displayed impressively at Isetan. Special make ups Alden, brands we'd never seen before, shops we've only seen online and getting to visit the HQ of some of our favorite companies filled my highlight list, as well as some of the items I was able to pick up – more to come on that later. We took as many photos as we could but unfortunately ran out of disk space and batteries a couple times, but here's a few shots documenting our trip to Japan.

love it
Great. Really inspiring.
very, very cool.......as usual.
Thanks guys.
Looks like a great time. For some reason, that second shot from the bottom especially reminds me of my own trip to Japan (Beams bag, Calpico, Meiji chocolate-covered almonds).
Welcome back, y'all.
Cheers.
Dashing chaps!
looks like a great trip. who's who?
Tokyo has everything except one thing... garbage bins on the streets...but the streets are still super clean...
What brands are the green M65 and the Harrington jacket?
Thanks for the nice comments everyone.
If you'd like to know who is who – in the back-to-back portrait shots, it goes Simon Roe, Owen Parrott & Ryan Willms.
The green jacket is the SS09 EG Birdshooter and the Harrington is the Baracuta G4.
Thanks

Thats outdoor store place looks pretty cool
Nice shots. The moc toe red wing lookalike... is that from Beam plus? How's the quality? Also the pants in the same pic is beautiful!
I must say I am very jealous of your ability to do what you love and travel the world, and all the while looking smashing. thumbs up for you making it happen!
dope pics ry
The long wing are definitely dope. I see you're getting the Winn Perry ones as well, haha.
Looooovely pictures!
What Oakley's are those?
Great stuff. What kind of cargo pants are those, in the fifth last pic or so?
@ Roy... The Oakley's are Frogskins and the colour's rootbeer.
@ Frank... Owen's cargo pants are RRL.
Great piec e on Tokyo and some great pics. I was there in the summer. The downside was the heat but there were so many pluses. My biggest dissapointment was that The Army Gym wasn't open; it was just a shell when I eventually found it.
