LOOK | An EG Affair

Look - An EG affair

It's no secret that Engineered Garments is probably my favorite brand these days. I just find that their pieces fit me and my lifestyle perfectly. From the variety of jackets, to the materials offered, to the small details in tags, collars and buttons – nothing feels overdone, out of place or unconsidered. I started throwing this look together and I didn't mean for it to be all Engineered Garments, but just like getting dressed in real life, it seems to be a common theme. I've been dying for a nice down vest to wear over a sport coat and the EG vest and Baker jacket couldn't be a better pair in my opinion. Throw in brown Workaday cords, a broadcloth 19th Century BD and a rare but ideal EG tote bag and you're set. The two other pieces come courtesy of Quoddy for the crepe sole ring boots and Inverallan made the kit cap – which will be available next week in the Stockroom.

I've really been digging ring boots recently. Quoddy vs Arrow Moc, I'm not too sure which I like more..

I'll be pleased with the blue knit now. I have a pair of Quoddy's on the way.

Chris - I think this version by Quoddy might be my favorite. Yuketen make a great pair with a Vibram sole, but this crepe sole is my fav for the ring boots. I might try to have some made in that peanut grizzly leather.

Tone - should be ready by the end of next week...

The Quoddy ring boots over the Arrow Mocassin every time. The Arrow's look like something Geppetto would wear around his work shop, and not in a good way.

My Arrow's went on eBay after a week and into the lesson learned book.

Good to note, Plus I've heard that crepe soles on Quoddys can be resoled whereas they can't be for Arrow. And yeah, they'd look good in the peanut grizzly leather.

Definitely agree on the Quoddys over the Arrows. What's also nice about the Quoddys is that you can change the -type- of sole on them when you have them resoled. When the soles wear down on my crepe-soled ones, I think I'll send them back and have them switched to double-bottom soles.

Ooh, good call on peanut grizzly leather ring boots. Ring boots in suede also look amazing.

That vest is raw.

Your life is refined workmanship? I agree that engineered garments is a wonderful brand, but do not market their lifestyle influences after your own. I am certain that you have no concept of earning a hard day's work in a field related to their garment inspirations.

Wow Ryan, glad to see your secure professing your love like that. EG is definitely a great brand for sure. I do appreciate what the brand is doing for modern menswear although some the pieces tend to be a bit too literal. Either way, appreciate you staying true to your style and what you enjoy.

I'd sure like to see the Inventory gang show us what they're wearing each day....with details of what you're wearing. C'mon - we know you have a camera .... and from the Japan trip pics, we know you aren't camera-shy....
