WANT: Alden Cordovan Chukkas

Although these might seem like an obvious choice for some people, it's taken me a little while to warm up to the Cordovan leather, especially if its not on a plain toe blucher, wing tip or long wing. Two good things I like and know are great. but rarely ever wear are chukka boots and Cordovan leather. So I'm not sure these would immediately become a high rotation shoe, but the combination of what I feel is a very classy,  elegant leather and a more casual boot model are definitely done best by Alden, and I'm more into it now than I have been. However I'm not too into spending the money this minute, or trying to track them down in this exact colorway (since these ones from Japan are sold out), but I would like to put some miles into them.

I have essentially these shoes. Except mine have an almost black sole edge. I prefer this version slightly. Regardless, the dark burgundy is a great color. After many months of regular wear the cordovan breaks in beautifully. They are one of my favorite shoes to dress up jeans.

I do want them, they are pretty beautiful. There are a number of versions of these, but I feel that leaving the sole in a lighter colour definitely helps them look more casual, but that's not easy to find in the Cordovan.

I have had a pair for about 7 years in black cordovan. I decided last fall to pimp them up with vibram lugged soles. My favorite shoes.
