Post Overalls Waistcoats

Post Overalls Waistcoats

The waist coat is undoubtedly a key layering piece within the world of work wear. Brands have delivered many versions in the last few seasons and some of my favorites have come from Engineered Garments, Filson and National Anthem - however the king might be Post Overalls in my book. After getting to try on a couple different versions and feel the weight and touch the lining, I feel that Post Overalls' vests have the perfect feel and weight to them, plus they come in ideal colors and material options. From heavier twill cottons, to soft wools, to the diagonal quilted version - the differences aren't in your face, but they're there. I feel like we can get past the non-sense chatter about how most of us don't currently work the labor jobs that these vests were once built for. These are made for 'fashion' minded people and hence they are made to be worn in fairly friendly conditions. That's fine with us, because that's what we're looking for and that's what Post Overalls is making best.

I'm a vest man, these are great. I have to admit, sometimes it's hard to pay-up for the high ticket vests when after all, it's not a ton of fabric. When I can snag 'em on sale, all the better.

BTW -- Can't believe you guys bring it everyday. Multiple times. Excellent work.

I recently came into some birthday money which was promptly dropped on Filson's Mackinaw Wool Vest that I've been lusting after for two years. I agree with JP, it's not easy to spend that much on a vest, but I don't regret that purchase one bit. It's been great for the chilly Oregon late fall. It gets noticed and complimented all the time.

When I'm rocking it with my Red Wing Gentleman Travellers I sometimes feel a little like a cowboy, which is both good and bad.

My favorite part: it looks great with a nice shirt, tie, and jacket as well. Workwear that cleans up nice. Always a bonus. Post Overalls has been high on my radar for the past year as well.

Great post.

My favorite has to be the 2nd one. It reminds me of the WWM Upland Jacket.

My issue with these workwear inspired vests seem to have no shape. I'd rather stick with Polo or J.crew or something with a bit of a tapered cut, my torso isn't square.

post overalls is probably my fav brand out there and that grey vest is just amazing. smith and butler stocks it, and they had a storewide sale yesterday which i forgot to hit up. for shame.

After just receiving my WWM's vest in the mail recently I have definitely become a workwear vest man. It is probably the subtlest workwear inspired piece you could wear that gives a nod to tradition and creates a sharp modern look as well. Sizing can be a bit of a challenge but once you find that one your set.

Angelo, I'm not sure if you've tried on the vests by Post Overallas, Filson or EG but they aren't that square. When they lay on a flat table for pictures they look it, but the weight of the Post vests especially fit your body really nicely and the lining is even quite soft and comfy compared to a Filson. I think that once you start wearing a vest like these, it's tough not to after you get used to it.

JP - Everyday indeed...we're addicted I think...Thanks again
