As more and more American brands are rediscovered by boutiques stateside, in the UK and in Japan - it's often the latter who have done it first, best and continue to explore the archives and abilities of the craftsmen. Arrow Moccasin have been around for a long time and currently have a couple pairs available at Oi Polloi, but it's this chukka that just arrived in Japan that I particularly like. Usually the moccasin construction on Arrow's models has the upper stitched directly to the crepe sole, but these new models have added the leather layer to the crepe sole. They still utilize the moccasin construction, but it adds a layer of toughness to the shoes that allow them to stand up a bit better to foul weather. I also feel like the structure makes them look and feel more substantial on foot.
