The latest and greatest collaboration from the 'streetwear' world has to be the Supreme + Wtaps baseball jackets that are set to release in the next couple of days. I thought that I really liked Supreme's varsity jacket this fall, and I do, but these two melton wool jackets are really doing it for me. From the baseball theme to the execution on the patches to the great addition of the pillows - as expected it's a very well done collaboration. I would happily go for the red or navy version of the jacket, and more than likely never make use of it's reversible functionality. Not that the inside is bad, but the jacket and product is really about the melton wool exterior. The pieces will release at Supreme shops in the USA on December 29th and in Japan early in the new year.
Update: You can also have a look at the jackets in action at Honeyee. Maybe not perfect styling for my taste, but they still look great.

If I manage to snag one of the jackets, I'll definitely make sure to get a pillow along with it.

The inside of the jacket looks so clean - http://www.lifeaftermidnight.com/2009/12/supreme-nyc-x-wtaps-reversible-varsity.html
You're so lame. Grow up.
Red is ill.... anyone got a pricepoint on these?
styling wise the varisty looks much better here;

"You’re so lame. Grow up."
Seems we've got a little bit of the pot calling the kettle black. You hate so much but keep coming back day after day. You're regular Buck Mulligan aren't you Ulysses.
Something like $500 plus kyx
also varsity is instore only
pillows and tees go online
Wouldn't pay that much for this, even though it has grown on me
Stephen, I don't know if you purposely used that name because of its interrelation to the novel Ulysses and my actual name, which is Ulysses, but I guess you're mostly correct in calling me a Buck Mulligan. I simply come back to this website because it is entertaining to watch this blog curator make a fool of himself without even knowing it. Our conversation references are most definitely going to go way over the head of Mr. Willms. It's nice to talk to someone so articulated as yourself, perhaps Mr. Willams will grow up one day and realize his bantering is utter foolishness.
Inventory isn't not as pretentious and immature as other websites that Ulysses frequently roasts. For one, the guy Jake Davis of the self titled blog was outted for ghost posting on his own blog posts to hype them and then tried covering it up. I see both sides of the coin.... I think inventory is at the very least sincere, albeit a little naive but mostly humble and affable. Jake Davis on the other hand is a serious try hard tool with an fake NY gangster ego problem and all of the posts over there are impossible to read without laughing out loud. Go check out his latest post if you wanna see what I mean.
Long story short, inventory is not that bad, regardless of some naive posting. much worse stuff out there. Ulysses as a blog critic you should focus on them instead.
Ryan, keep it up, I can tell you're getting better at this blog stuff.
I spread my opinion equally over many blogs, as Mr. Davis definitely knows. Credit is given where credit is due, and the harsh reality is brought to light when it is teetered from. There was this one time in Mr. Davis' history where he was actually complimented by me. Mr. Willms will get applause when he accomplishes or writes something that I feel is statement worthy and shows intellectual, real life, depth.
The price is 699$ for the jacket and 199$ for the pillow... Expencive!
Ulysses - I love you.
I'm curious who Ulysses actually likes. Or are all blogs beneath him?
I wonder if this Ulysses has his own blog, you know spouting criticism without any provable merit or any meaningful contribution to claim is easy. It's not so easy when you're out in the public spectrum laying it out on the line and taking real risks. Let's see what you've got, Ulysses. Don't disappoint us.
That is a kiddish challenge; one that serves no true meaning. Especially, it is one that has been heard over and over again. One needn't procure a "blog" in order criticize a public outlet. This a pleasurable outlet for a parcel of my free time, and it is obvious from other comments that my thoughts are shared. You cannot shame me because I choose more merit-able professions in which to make my name known. I'm surely not a "blog" creator or paltry magazine (if thats what you'd like to call it) owner. I apologize for my articulated comments; that is how I feel. You shall call my criticism "hate" (by the way, what type of word usage is that; surely I do not "hate" Mr. Willms. It must an inability to address the English language properly), but I will continue to express my thoughts. Eventually they will truly sink in, as from my professional and academic experience, words can work very well for me. This is just a nice little experiment to see their effects on such a tasteless blogging mass that many of you belong to. Not to be brash, a good number of you also make tasteful and intelligent comments.
Okay, some vague references to professional and academic experience is all dandy and nice, but they amount to a pile of moot. You have cited no credible sources, no examinable evidence of your superiority or anything that you have claimed. Even the worst con men can put together a respectable sentence and manipulate the written word. You have succeeded in proving one thing, good sir, that you are a coward hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, fearful of the repercussions of revealing yourself. There is nothing inherently wrong with your stance, it is a popular one in the history of the human experience, however, until you prove otherwise, that's all one needs to know before considering your so implied "valuable" criticism.
Express away!, because despite my harsh words, For the record, I mostly agree with your opinions. However, if you are going to take the perspective you have chosen, you must only assume the same treatment that you proliferate.
I have a hard time understanding your perceived conceptions of foolishness and taste Ulysses. You talk of Ryan's "banter" on the blog as foolish and tasteless, yet here you are bantering with us. I fail to see why it is foolish that the Inventory staff write a blog about what they clearly have a passion for above all else: clothing. Does it really matter what they do for them to have an appreciation for any aesthetic they write about? Surely one doesn't have to have served in the Navy to wear a pea coat. I think their command of the English language is fine and they've made a trade off. I think that they've chosen to use a voice that is more personable, earnest and sincere as '2cents' alluded to. While at the same time, they offer some insight into the products and an understanding of them. It's obvious that you're prefer a more formal writing style but I think on a blog that would quickly be taken out of context as putting on airs and be perceived as arrogant which your comments come across as now (a stark contrast from your first comment and most of your other seemingly ignorant comments). If anything it's a blog (why the "'s by the way?) about clothing they like. Who are you to tell them they can't enjoy something? As for your 'experiment' it seems your hypothesis has been disproved considering they keep blogging and people (yourself included) keep reading. As for taste, I don't think there's much more tasteless then personally insulting people over the internet.
ha finally some sense...
I'm happy we all can use proper punctuation, but my question has not been answered yet. Is it the forum (a blog) Ulysses has distaste for, or the content? And if there are blogs that meet his very high standard, what are they?
I propose that Ulysses (or whatever other names he/she chooses from time to time to hide behind) simply be ignored. He/She has clearly got nothing to contribute and nothing better to do than toss words out like a pompous ass.
Keep up the great work on the blog, Inventory. Your passion is refreshing and I thoroughly appreciate all of the work it takes not only to create a blog with a true focus, but to enhance what you do with the online magazine as well as the print one. I'm sure your readers would agree that your time is far too precious to waste on the likes of Ulysses.
I like this jacket.
I find it ironic that a pompous jackass criticizing certain commenters for their poor word usage cannot complete a simple sentence: "It must an inability to address the English language properly."
So many comments on this one. I like the jackets but not for the price, and I'm assuming a lot of the younger crowd of streetwear enthusiasts will be all over the release. As I grow older, I find myself wanting to distance myself from that whole scene. I don't want to be that older guy wearing kiddie clothes, which you see all the time with skate/surf/street culture and all those heads from the 80's 90's that never really grew up. I guess I would much rather wear a less busy baseball jacket in a similar style.
great great jacket. Nice find guys!
