Free & Easy knows a thing or two about workwear, and it's hardly surprising that when they team up with the likes of Warehouse, one of the best vintage reproducers around, they put out amazing products. The most recent of which might be my favourite yet. Based off of a 1940's Big Yank Outerwear shirt, the 2009 edition is fantastic from top to bottom. I'll be the first to admit that brown usually isn't the most appealing colour for tops but the shade and texture of the woven wool is perfect for a fall work shirt. The classic pocket arrangement of one pen and one peaked is complimented by nice light, bordering on lime, green bar tacks that give the brown a bit of life. The black buttons are perfect too. The shirts got a pretty care free free fit (unless you've got long arms like Simon and I) and would pair up great with a tan or olive coloured vest or coat or a combination of both. It comes in navy as well but the brown is much more unique I'd say.

it's so lovely :D
Where can it be purchased?
this may be a weird question but what was the original reason for that kind of pocket arrangement? especially the peaked one
also it's a gorgeous shirt
Randy, unfortunately it's only available at the Rugged Museum: www.rugged.jp
Ross, the peaked pocket was so it could cleanly hold a pack of cigarettes as far as I know.

Other than finding a Japanese speaking friend, doe anyone have any recommednations for how to order from the Japanese websites?
I did have luck ordering from Amazon.jp cuz I translated the page through google first and it's identical to U.S version. Maybe try that first to see if you can navigate through a site.
I have this shirt and it is thick fabric. It is nice because it does not shrink and look cheap after the first wash.
Thank you! You often write very interesting articles. You improved my mood.
