Great turtleneck sweaters are few and far between in my opinion and if any brand was to get it right, it would be 45rpm. While S.N.S. Herning's Fisherman is as classic as you can get, and is my regular high neck pullover this winter, this low-gauge knit from 45rpm looks really beautiful. Known for their use of high quality cottons and hand crafted methods, the red version especially looks quite amazing as you can see the knit patterns through the shoulders, neck and cuffs. They are fairly subtle, but they are just right. The fitted wool sweater is also machine washable, which is kind of a nice feature - you just have to put it in a laundry bag. Surprisingly the price isn't out of reach at $387, which was nice after being quite sad about the Fair Isle cardigan.

Beware, premium Japanese label, made in China. I sent mine back.
I think it will have to be a bit out of reach for me. Lovely though, no doubt.
I think Japanese knits have spoiled me lately. I can't imagine buying any other (not that I can afford many!).
45rpm always teases me. I hope I can afford it in the future.
