Clarks Chestnut Desert Boots

Clarks Chestnut Desert BootThe Desert Boot needs no introduction. For me, it's one of the best pieces of footwear ever made and hands down the best model of Clarks (sorry Ghostface). The simple two-piece upper and crepe sole is wearable year-round with any outfit and they're readily available. That is they're available in most colours nowadays except in my favourite option from Clarks: Chestnut. The grain of the suede is slightly thicker than the other colours which gives the medium shade of brown a nice bit of irregularity. The colourway gets completed nicely with a tan stitch and dark tan crepe but the best part of the chestnut though, is the super soft smooth inside. The suede's reverse acts kind of like a leather lining while keeping that loose shape of the ankle.  The travesty though is that Chestnut is now an endangered species in the Desert Boot world. I picked up a pair a few years ago and have since only be able to find them on eBay every once and a while, but never in my size. Maybe you'll have more luck.

Very good looking yet understated footwear- beautiful color, too.

Isn't the cola color almost the same as this one? That one can be found at oipolloi.co.uk

I think the Cola is a bit different, and it's not at Oi Polloi.
I don't think they are making the d.boots in chestnut any more.

Jcrew makes this color or close to it. "Stone" is the closest color they have to this. I like their Dark Khaki too.

The Desert Boot is certainly the best model of Clarks out there. I'd really like to see them play around with the soles here & there. I remember seeing a pair with an almost "work boot" sole that may have been a custom or just some rare model. Let the U.S. have some fun every now & again, please.

i need a pair in loden green, clarks needs to make them in olive green or some sort of dark forest green suede for the desert boots.

The burnt sienna is pretty close to this color.
Never seen them in a desert boot though.

Are all Clarks desert boots now made in China? Is it still possible to find any that aren't?

I wore deseert boots in high school. I bought a pair a few years ago and they seemed unbearably cheaply made. I sent them back.

Clarks had moved the manufacture to China.

I am still not sure whether I am a savvier shoe guy now or whether the quality has suffered since I bought my first pair for the equivalent of twelve dollars in Scotland.
