I don't know a whole lot about Emma Hope other than their desert boots look great. We've mentioned several dozen pairs of desert boots on the blog it seems, all are slightly different in their cut, materials and soles it seems, but achieve the same look. I can't really argue that Emma Hope's version is going to do anything different. However, the black suede isn't that easy to come by, and the low profile natural colored sole do look great. From the pictures it does appear to have a leather lining which is pretty much a necessity for me if I'm buying another pair of shoes. All in all, these are better looking than Clarks in my opinion - but are they $200 better looking?

I wonder where you heard about these ...
They are pretty much perfect - aswell as the sole the main feature for me is the Leather Laces !
You can't beat Clarks Originals. You really can't. Perfect, original, and cheap.
I do agree that these desert boots are a fine rendition of the style that Clarks has perfectly achieved. However, $200 is an awful lot to pay for a pair of boots that people will assume are Clarks. As for the black suede, I don't know how hard they are to come by in Canada, but I do know that the Black suede Clarks can be found effortlessly by simply walking down Broadway in NYC. They are absolutely everywhere, even in the cheapest of footwear stores. I got my black suede Clarks in LA in a Clarks Originals store for $50(on sale). I will gladly choose the Clarks any day for that price.
True and well said. I should have said black suede with the natural sole/mid sole are tougher to find, at least around here.
And these aren't $200, they're $200 more than Clarks...
they are 200 pounds laughable
agreed. clarks would make more sense.
but the shape of recent ones is pretty lame imo.
I do like how these don't seem to have that Bulky look that I see when I look at a pair of Clarks. I would have to try them on first before spending around 300 for a pair though. I already have a nice pair of leather soled desert boots. So I am not even sure if I would make the dive for a black pair for around the same price.
I was very interested in the Common Projects desert but they're sold out at Oki Ni. J.Crew desert boots are only $135.
