Nom de Guerre's spring collection has been releasing slowly at a few shops but between the look book and what we've seen so far I haven't seen any real outstanding pieces. The officer shirts are great, but we already knew NDG had perfected those. Finally some of the outerwear has shown up at Oi Polloi including this really great looking fishtail parka. I really like the fishtail cut and teamed up with Nom de Guerre's high quality and slim fit, you've got a winner. The parka is fully water proof with all taped seams yet breathable and still made in Japan. The interesting feature on the jacket is that the bottom section actually zips off and provides an option or a stripped down field parka looking piece. While I've never been a huge fan of the 2 jackets in one idea, I think it actually works quite nicely here, although I would probably keep the whole thing together the majority of the time.

So many things I've wanted to buy... yet so poor. I've recently been selling some of my winter pieces and then going to the thrift store and tailoring the item to how I want it. Oh, and making a lot of cheap random Philip Crangi like jewelry, but with stuff from AceHardware. Oh so lovely.

Not down-playing the parka... but it seems like the prices of all the popular brands are either staying the same or even getting hgiher.... and I'm definitely not getting paid anymore than usual.
