Rayban 112

rayban-112I've been starting to want a pair of glasses more and more lately. I always thought they had a ton of potential to add to a look and while I do realize they are meant for people with less fortunate eyesight, that doesn't mean the rest of us can't still use the look. There are a handful of frames I've been interested in, none more than the Marcello frames by Robert Geller - which I heard are going to be released again this spring. Anyways, these Raybans also are pretty nice looking. I really like the thin frame and the shape of the bridge. I am quite liking the more rounded shape and I feel Rayban didn't take it too far with these. Either the black or tortoise look really nice and could be worn with pretty much anything.

yeah glasses are great. especially torotoise shell. although us nearsighted folks are a little jealous you guys can wake up in the morning and see the clock without having to put on your sexy specs...

First and foremost, I would like to note that I am a huge fan of h(y)r and am a devoted reader of all things related to your website. Though I understand that glasses are "meant for people with less fortunate eyesight," I also strongly believe that those who don't have to wear glasses should not wear glasses. I have perfect vision and have always secretly wished that I could put a pair of nerdy-chic glasses to good use. A couple of my friends have worn glasses without needing them, and no doubt they are a great accessory that add to the overall look of a person nicely. But because I know my friends don't need glasses, in all honesty it makes them look a little shady, with such a major flaw in their personality that they feel the need to hide behind a persona that isn't theirs. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends but wearing glasses if you don't need them truly is a misrepresentation of who you are, and comes across as more of a desperate representation of who you wish you were.

Pretty nice. Got a pair by Jean Lempereur that are similiar. Oliver Peoples make some pretty tight ones too.

I'm liking the way those look. If you have good eyes and don't really need glasses but want the look, I say go for it. The frames themselves are extremely expensive(usually around $350), but when you add in the prescription lenses, they seriously break the bank. If you don't actually need prescription lenses, you've got yourself a deal, at least in comparison to someone who does.

Calvin Klein, Brooks Brothers, and Ben Silver also have some really nice frames. But of course, they ain't cheap either.

Yes, Rayban is quite expensive

cosign on the dont-wear-glasses-if-you-dont-need-them sentiment. mad cheesy. serious poseur. a white cane would also go pretty well with just about everything .

I currently wear a pair of rayban frames and I love them to death, unfortunately the rounder frames aren't very flattering to me. these though look rather nice. I was in shop today, checking out new frames, and i think next time I go back I may check to see if they have these to try out.

I don't see much difference in non-prescriptions and sunglasses as an accessory. I was with my girlfriend while she was buying new glasses and I tried some on and have been interested in getting some ever since. It might sound cheesy, but Costco carries a number of respectable brands in the $100-$200 range for us budget conscious folk.

I must agree with Nicholas S on this one. A pair of glasses can look great but I feel that if you don't need them, don't wear them. The day when you will need them will most probably come, it's just a matter of time.

Saying all that though, those ray ban frames are nice.

Indeed, Costco is a great source. I asked a stunningly well-dressed woman where she sourced her specs, and she proudly admitted Costco. FYI, was an affluent businesswoman who couldn't care less about a budget, just style.

Its unfortunate there's even a debate on who should wear certain spec and who shouldn't wear them. I say for the sake of fashion anything goes!!!!! Lets not be hyprocrites and act like you never wore something that was unneeded. For god sake I can write a whole article on it starting from puffy jacket vest to finger-less knitted gloves. So, I say rock what you want because they'll always be naysayers. The whole woman fashion is based on making people look a certain way (have you seen what skinny jeans can do to a girl with no figure???)

Wearing glasses when you don't need them is neally as lame as Kanye wearing gloves inside.

YES. It does mean you can't wear glasses. There is nothing I hate more than people wearing glasses that don't need to.
