I didn't really have the money for this right now, but I'll be getting paid in a couple days and I sold a couple things recently so that's my justification. That, and I've been thinking about this field parka by Engineered Garments for several months. I really decided I need a field/mountain parka last fall and just couldn't find the right color or model on eBay or anywhere else. I have always liked navy blue, but now more than ever. It goes with everything and always will. The heavy cotton jacket will definitely serve as an all-season light coat in BC weather for a few years to come. The toggles, the big buttons and the serious zipper make the jacket feel really solid too. I like having the waist draw string as well to cinch off once in awhile. The jacket follows the traditional stying as most of EG's collection does - four main front pockets with the vertical back pocket mean I won't run out of places to carry things, while the jacket still feels perfectly balanced and not over-pocketized, as we've seen a few pieces this season. All in all, I'm really happy with the parka, and I can stop wishing I had it and start enjoying it. Available at Jonathan+Olivia, Odin and Oi Polloi.

I would have taken the risk and waited for it to go on sale. Great buy by the way.
Exactly the same story here, mine arrived today from Oi Polloi - price was steep, but everything about the jacket is impeccable. Love it.
that's a great, great piece. perfectly rounded in all aspects. i recently picked up the Supreme mountain parka from F/W 08 and kiiiiiind of wish i held out for something that was a little more mature and versatile like this one. i'd love to see the details in person, but being EG i'm sure it's on point. $500+ is a lot to swallow, but at least it went to the right place.
no wonder you have no money for lap dancers and beer
Lol, you got it Pete,
Because I bought this jacket, I don't like Las Vegas. Hah, simple equation.
It kind of looks like a jacket from Our Legacy ss09, doesn't it?
go ahead and give yourself a pat on de back
our legacy does not make outerwear.
what are you talking about andy? they do have a jacket like this in their ss09.
plain.
they do? I checked tres bien and there is no outerwear. must not be released yet, sorry for misleading you guys...
if you go on tres bien's blog you can see the spring outerwear they are getting.

[...] - they work with everything. I’ve written about a lot of options from Sierra Designs to Engineered Garments (which I bought), and I think this Headporter Plus version is right near the top of the list. All 3 [...]
