Russell Mocs are no stranger to making some nice leather footwear. This spring they've teamed up with UCS to come up with a little more sturdy looking moccasin than we're used to seeing by them. The strong off-white sole looks really nice with the black and brown uppers. The leather has a nice nice subtle treatment on both pairs, although I am leaning towards the nice texture the black pair seems to be showing. The shoes feel similar to the Red Wing Wabasha chukkas, but a little more stream-lined. I am really feeling this moccasin chukka style much more than the desert boot right now. The style is a bit different than you'll see on most people's feet and there is definitely a bit of a Japanese vibe to the model, which I'm often drawn to.

These look really nice. When and where will they be available? I'm waiting out for either my next visit to England, or for next fall to get a pair of those Redwing Wabasha chukkas.
Incidently, I've not seen anyone talking about these:

I picked up a pair yesterday from the Liquor Store. Great fit, and kind of a perfect summer version of the Redwings or these Russell Mocs.
I'm not a big Sperry Fan, but I think these are a collaboration with J Crew only, and are definitely a good summer boot.
these are quite nice
the detailing around the toes look slightly cheap..maybe it's the photo.
ehh... not so special. def not the kind of shoe that makes you have to buy it.
The black pair is dope
coping the browns.. so beautiful
Hey Max,
I'll be heading up to Berlin next week. I'll let you know what the Russell guys are up to next. Can't wait.
The Russell black chukkas with white Vibram soles are great -- I had a pair made ten years ago and they continue to be the most comfortable, best wearing boots in my closet. On a recent trip to Switzerland, they were in the snow every day. I saddle soaped them when I returned and the white salt stains and signs of weathering disappeared. Russell's may truly be the best.
