I've mentioned my desire for a Bell & Ross Vintage 120 in the past, previously I'd been 100% stuck on the leather strap. Upon a brief lesson in watches and the Bell & Ross line, it turns out I might actually prefer the Vintage 123. While I still am in love with the leather strap, after getting a good look at the 123 with a metal bracelet and off-white face, I am much more open to the metal wrist band. I am not claiming to be a really watch knowledgeable person, but I know what I like when I see it, and I haven't found anything I like more. Bell & Ross fit great, the weight is perfect and the design is so clean and extremely balanced. I think that lends itself nicely to a lifetime of wear and timeless style. I've actually had plans to start savings plan for one of these watches, now I'm slightly more torn between the leather or metal strap.

I'm partial to watch straps, as they provide a nice contrast to the watch. Bracelets make the watch look like one big hunk of metal - I suppose they work in some instances (like my dad's vintage Rolex), but if I get to choose, I usually prefer a strap.
I always gravitate towards leather straps...although I know plenty of guys who have great looking metal bracelet watches.
Do you guys wear your watch with the face on top or your wrist, or on the palm side?
If you are dropping more than 2k on a watch it should come with a leather and metal strap. I checked the their site and I'm sure these do come with both.
Get a Cartier Roadster!
I agree 100% on this watch! I bought one about two or three years ago. I kept it on the metal bracelet and then switched out to a red and blue nylon band a few weeks ago. You can buy the B&R bands or after market bands and change them out. It's not a tough process if you have the right tool (the tool costs about 10 bucks).
As general rule of thumb, it's usually cheaper to buy a watch with the metal band and then buy the OEM leather straps afterwards. Or, if you're feeling frisky, as the AD to throw them in, or give you a deal on them. After all, you are spending a good chunk of money with them.
You have great taste in watches!
Top of the wrist for sure. I have never really understood why some people don't. It looks a bit odd to me.
Yeah, I'd agree, the only reason I ever heard from someone was to keep from scratching the face as much.
If you have a sapphire face though, shouldn't scratch...
Ya, the only thing that will scratch these B&R faces is a diamond apparently, or if you wipe out on your motorbike going 100+ its also possible.
Ah maybe the guy I met had a Vincent black shadow...then I guess I would cosign wearing the face on the palm side...
Can't argue with the choice of watch. The leather vs metal strap is a matter of choice but it's a nice choice to have to make!
Don't forget the chronos too...!
