If you could only ever have one parka in your closet for the rest of your life, it should probably be this one. Nigel Cabourn takes no prisoners when it comes to fine materials and clean design and this parka is sort of the epitome of what he produces. This masterpiece is made from two of the UK's better known fabric specialists, Mackintosh and Harris Tweed. Both produced in Scotland, Mr. Cabourn was able to keep manufacturing close at home while most of his market remains in Asia. The woolen body of the jacket is sure to keep you warm while looking really great, and nicely complimented by the tonal grey top. There aren't a lot of good grey parkas on the market, and although this comes in navy as well, the grey is really the most impressive. The price tag is of course high, but it's a piece you'll only have to buy once. It would go with everything, be nicer than other options and buying a vintage version just wouldn't be the same. Nigel Cabourn really does improve on the classics with an updated manufacturing process, higher quality materials and a very tidy aesthetic, it's really an impressive piece.Available at Supderdenim

Awesome jacket, but too bad they dont carry a 46!!
900 quid! Phwooooar... That is no joke. Stunning coat, nevertheless.
Great coat, but way out of my range
i'll have two
Seriously. It's like I need that coat. Maybe I'll rob a bank or two and be able to afford a few coats-that being said, it's one of the few garments that is worth the price. Can't wait to check out the Army Gym in a few days! Maybe Mr. Cabourn has a sponsorship program-I don't want to be pro, just put on flow would be more than enough...
I like everything about this parka (especially in navy) except the metal clips. I know they replicate fasteners that were used on Army and Navy coats, but for some reason I wish it just had buttons all the way up.
I have last years version in black.
Its a belter.
It's impossible not to comment on the price. How great this may be, this is just out of my price range. I wonder if the production justifies the price, what do you think? I think the only Cabourn pieces I could afford would be the everest sweater or the medical shirt. I really liked last years clip jacket and the reversible shirt, Cabourn seems to be somewhat the God of the workwear/heritage/outdoor "trend".
It is really a great jacket. As said before though, way out of my price range.
Regarding if the production justifies the price i know for a fact that the cabourn everest parka had a production cost a bit over 600 british pounds and the retail is somewhere around 1400. I think thats a hint that the price point is somewhat justified.
Probably, and all Cabourn clothes stand out always. There are a lot of brands I read about here and in other blogs I find very overrated and boring, one example is CP Company.
