Rogues Gallery Peacoat

rogues-gallery-pea-coatI would imagine we might start seeing a few peacoats around these parts. Just yesterday a friend asked me which peacoat to get. Although there are a fairly good number of options, there isn't really a definitive source for pea coats. Surplus can be a great option, if you 'd like a denim material I'd go to Mister Freedom, but if you just want a basic navy wool, the options are pretty limited. Rogues Gallery have produced a very nice basic version of the iconic item this fall. The rough wool features a slim body and narrow arms which are a nice change from the surplus route. The nice color, good pocketing and clean design make it one of Rogues Gallery's winners and an overall good looking jacket.

Rogues is a great option. I really like Unis' peacoats as well.

I just posted about a really nice peacoat that dropped in '08 by LEE in collaboration with SAMMLER. It has reinforced pockets and is made of melton wool.

Also for this season, Visvim is doing another run of the officer peacoat made with Harris wool.

ah, just noticed you were talking about Navy peacoats. I think the Lee on is black but there should be a Navy colorway for the Visvim one.

^The Visvim one is amazing. I just saw the grey version on ebay or something. That might be the ultimate for me, it's amazing and the price reflects that as usual.

agreed^

the combination of taped gore tex and harris wool is just insane. It's a perfect example of good design. taking the classic look of the peacoat and updating all the technical features to make it even more warm, comfortable and waterproof.

I am watching that same gray version, but @ about $900, I won't be purchasing it anytime soon :)
