Carhartt at Union LA

We've been excited to see what Chris Gibbs does with the remaining Union leg since taking over earlier this year. His personal style and taste have left a serious mark in our little world. We will explore more on that in the near future with an in-depth interview and article with Chris coming soon. That said, Chris has managed to wrangle up the first Carhartt Europe Collection account for North America. Union is now stocking a selection of items from the fall offering including these great chambray work shirts. For awhile we've seen the Carhartt Europe line blossom and turn out some great items for good prices. Now we have somewhere to find it in LA. I was excited when Chris told me the news a little while back, but Jake Davis reports on the in-shop stock and reminiscent feeling of visiting Union.

Union has got to be the best place right in the US for street fashion. They stock visvim, w)taps, neighborhood, among others... I have a lot of respect for the shop and the people behind it. I heard Union NY closed down and was really bummed about it. So much history and memories behind that place. The LA shop is now my #1 priority when I visit LA right up there with RRL melrose and OC. I would love to get a interview with Chris. H(y)r should do an indepth feature on the history of the shop and it's family. (if it hasn't already, i'm new to the blog/mag )
oh yeah and the carhartt europe fall stuff looks great.
re: the carhartt EU chambrays. They are nice and well fitting, but quality wise worse than eg and such (but ofcourse alot cheaper aswell). The cat eye buttons stand out as plastic looking unfortunatly.

Was in the Carhartt store in Tokyo...the gear is really nice. Wish I could get it back home. Doubly frustrating since it's a Michigan company...tried to get a discount since I actually live in Detroit, near Dearborn, but the shop guys just looked at me funny...kudos to Union

The EU Carhartt line is dope, they made an amazing tote bag this season, I even emailed Carhartt EU about it when I saw it a few months back and they said "no retailers in NA". Glad to see the lines more accessible to us now.

Carhartt is just a namesake. None of the EU stuff is made in america and has no connection to the US Carhartt at all.
The EU Carhartt stuff is awsome. Really, really dope stuff! Some pretty nice shirts in the collection.
