Garbstore Mountain Providence Parka

GarbstoreParka

Garbstore have just put out this 'special edition' version of their Mountain Providence Parka and it might just be the best version yet. I've always liked the cut and details of the parka and the green/tan option was one of the better jackets of the season in my opinion. This royal blue lined with a great japanese flannel looks even more fantastic though. The blue works really well with the white pull cords which I love here and the plaid offers something unique compared to the usual ripstop lining. While it might seem a bit bright, I think it'd be a very easy jacket to pull off. The royal can be worn over any other shade of blue from navy to soft and in any form from a wool suit to a chambray shirt. The various colours in the plaid mean that wearing different reds or greys would work too.

I love this. Keep up the great work!

Agreed on all points. I sort of wish those slant pockets were side entry though. The flannel lining goes perfect with that blue, and I'm not a fan of epaulets in general, but I don't think I mind them on a piece of outerwear like this. Yumyum.

These garbstore parkas are the truth.
The green ones on sale right now at The Bureau.

The waist drawstrings on the outside ruin an otherwise nice piece

@newgrass ... I agree with you on the epaulets,, forgot to mention them in the post. I'm not really a fan of them either but they'd be easy enough to cut off if need be.

Love this jacket. great choice. Garbstore's offerings only get stronger with each season.

I've wanted either the green or tan one from this past fall season but I simply couldn't justify that ticket on them. We'll see though.

Saw the green and tan version in London last summer. Hands down my favorite piece in the entire store, and there is certainly no shortage of really nice stuff in there.

Theres a black one of these on ebay right now in a medium for a good price. Prefer it to this bright blue color. If only it was a bigger size. Great jacket.

Love the colour combination of this one, though the Black is still my favourite combination.
