South 2 West 8 is definitely my second favorite collection coming out of the Nepenthes family right now. Owned and directed by Keizo Shimizu, the collection has a very direct reference to the outdoors and American sportswear heritage. Unlike the brand's Nepenthe's brother, the collection is made mostly in Japan. With select collaborations with US factories for bags and footwear, the spring collection picks up right where the winter left off: with some great looking camo, lightweight parkas and tough twills. The collection is very wearable when broken down and the styling is ahead of the curve once again. Although slightly off-key, the blue pullover jacket that packs away into a small bag might be the piece that's most appealing to me. The collection is reasonably priced in its native Japan but doesn't seem to have any signs of making it's way to the western world that I know of. I'm hoping that isn't the case for too much longer.

Anorak/Pullover is where its at, need one of these for Spring.
Those red backpacks, look solid too, hard to tell if its leather they're using........
Solid lookbook, puts the EG one to shame.

I agree w/ Jason J, I would love to see an EG look book like this wearing the looks in a day to day environment.
I'm feeling those Blue suede moc toe's in the first pic.
Camouflage jacket is a blatant replica of older LL Bean models.
Replications have been done for ages. It's one item. What's your point, Ulysses?
I can't justify the price plus proxy fees when there are so many similar options in the united states for cheaper. I definitely "get" the need for exclusive gear and it's always more satisfying to pick up gear that you really have to put some work into getting. I would personally choose an american made and less expensive product if they are essentially the same or very similar garments, but If J-spec is your thing or you just really connect or appreciate the philosophy behind the brand, I can respect that.
I might be more inclined towards South 2 West 8 if I knew more behind the brand, how long have they been around?
Really not feeling the styling in this lookbook. And I don't know how you guys can get down with bucket hats...
