Sassafras have unofficially become my favorite brand that I haven't been able to try on. We had a very small glimpse at some pants last fall in Tokyo, but weren't able to find much of a selection while trekking through the city. The pant offerings from Sassafras definitely hit some of their gardening references quite thoroughly but it's these Feel Sun pants that have obvious affiliation to the fatigue pant, but feel quite unique. The way the pockets sit on the front look really great to me, as well as the color and general cut of the leg. The button flap pockets in the back are perfect and the waist band offers an neat little stitching detail, although I think they look better belted as seen in the first image.

I dig the trews but I'm not feeling that chap's shirt....
Looks superb, but too risky to order without having the chance to try them on.
Same boat here. They've been a favorite brand of mine that I haven't been able to try on or even see in person for a while now.
Absolutely. Their utility pocket aesthetic is even ahead of Mister Freedom and Mountain Research. I'm a scenic carpenter and I want the fall leaf fork pants so bad. I could carry so many tools.
BTW, the new Mister Freedom stuff maybe deserves a post?
what? no. looks like something from army surplus with a worse fit
Back when I listened to Gorilla Biscuits you could buy these at the Army Surplus store for $12. The Japanese have probably long since bought all that stock up though.
@Mitch- ??? I like the pants, but the pockets on them are probably the most basic possible. In contrast, MF pocket design rarely fails to amaze me.
Zissou -- right, yes, these pants are simple. Most of their other pants are more built-out, but I didn't make it clear I was talking about them. And don't worry, I'm not negging MF. We have the same initials. And I think the rider dungarees are astounding -- all three colors.
Ah, I see, then. I've not paid too much attention to Sassafras, considering their limited availability. Here's to crazy (good) Japanese-made gear...
Anybody know what those shoes are he's wearing?
Hello. I just realized that this web page doesn't display accurately in my cell phone browser. Well i guess, I think I will simply just use the tried and tested Internet Explorer.
