It's no secret that the Woolen Mills spring collection is one of my favorites. It's peppered with great pieces from shorts to shirting to outwear. It's not surprising that Monocle and Woolrich have continued their on-going work relationship and have put together a short editorial spread in Monocle's 31st issue. The shoot highlights my favorite piece in the collection, the anorak, along with some others we've previously mentioned. Monocle's styling might not be exactly how I would have done it, but it definitely stays true to their style and the layout looks a good as ever. The type and simple graphic elements let the clothing to shine which is what a good magazine should do ideally. The full menswear editorial also features pieces from Yuketen, Engineered Garments, Post Overalls, Nigel Cabourn and Nepenthes - needless to say it's worth picking up.

Best anorak I've seen.
I need to pick this up. Every time I see WWM styled, it's always loose fitting top layers, which has turned me off from the brand a bit. This shoot shows how the pieces can be rocked more snuggly, very intriguing.
but still the anorak for this season is becoming the unicorn of S/S 2010 as it continues to be suspiciously absent in english speaking stocklists. Any idea who might be carrying it this season? I'm ready to pay Euro prices for it, albeit the Euro has come down some recently. I agree Ryan, its the most coveted piece from this collection in any color.
Cheers,
Im really not digging this styling. It reminds of GQ at its most pompous. Its the one thing that lets Monocle down (apart from its lack of humour).
the anorak is a definite winner, would love to get hold of one, may have to settle for the most recent supreme effort instead though...
I prefer the asymetrical pocketing on shirts much more than on a jacket.
Having the four pockets of the parkas we've been seeing so much of are much more practical for me, not that WWM doesn't make some great looking products.
This spread is amazing. Monocle does such great work on the editorials. I always try not to skip to the end when I get a new issue because it's like the secret prize inside. WWM continues to impress.
Anyone know if Monocle are doing another WWM collaboration for this spring?
Uh-Uh. Terrible. This "outdoor dandy" shit has got to go.
