Gitman Vintage Spring Shirts

Gitman SS10

Again Gitman Vintage is back with a strong collection of madras, seersucker, plaids and short sleeve options for the warm weather. While the weather isn't quite here yet, the shirts are and they are selling just as quickly as usual. There are a handful of blue plaid shirts that come in madras and seersucker that I am quite fond of this season. I tend to stay away from the pinpoint weight chambrays, but a plaid madras is pretty difficult to deny. The collection will be available fairly extensively this season at Context, Blackbird, Roden Gray, Tres Bien, The Bureau and Dover Street Market.

Yeah I was kinda confused by their definition of "chambray" when i saw those new offerings in person. Will they be doing a heavier option come fall (closer to the inventory collabo?)

Oh so it's pinpoint chambray? I was so pumped on grabbing one since i missed the boat on the heavyweight one last f/w... I'm guessing their oxfords will be a lighter weight as well? If so, I'll be waiting till f/w '10 arrives to pick up anything Gitman! It's heavyweight or bust.

Hey Zack,
The spring chambray is quite thin and not like ours or the ones last season. The oxford 2-ply shirts are still the same as always, but it's worth noting the type of fabric if you're ordering online. We have some great spring tattersals coming in 2-ply oxford cloth later this month.

^No, I didn't actually. I meant Roden Gray, with an "r" after the G.

There's a real good selection at www.rooneyshop.com

and they shipped it to me for free !

Oh, they are in at Roden Gray, are they? I've been checking their blog for this. I found their longsleeves a little short for my long arms but have always wanted one of their shirts.

I used that rooneyshop link and can safely say that the model has put me right off buying anything from there. Why anyone would want that forced 'lifestyle' look astounds me.

south willard has a really nice faded gitman plaid and several others as well.

Rooneyshop have the coveted holy grail of Gitmans, ie red oxford, but at £135 including shipping I might as well wait and hope it drops at the Bureau or Oi Polloi. Or I can get one made for that price.
Ryan, what's the colour scheme and likely price on the tattersalls?

I'll share this link to my bestfriend. He's fond of collecting vintage clothes and checkered polos like these. Nice color combinations!
