Anachronorm are more known for their rough wearing jackets, trousers and shirting but this spring they have a clean and classic looking canvas tote bag to add to the mix. While there is pretty much no excuse for Japanese brands not to offer a great canvas bag, and there are many, this one is particularly good looking. I like the subtle pattern on the inside pockets, nice color hits and the nicely finished rivets. An ideal size and perfect in any color.

Unis Nolita

While I wasn’t sure it was even possible, but the Unis flagship store on Elizabeth St. in New York managed to get even more welcoming this past Thursday. As we mentioned last week, our friend Kyle Garner from Sit and Read Furniture teamed up with Unis to re-fit their Nolita home base. The combination of left-over Unis fabrics and Kyle’s classical furnishings have resulted in a perfectly unassuming interior. Clean lines and a great arrangement for a nice open space and great garments; it’s what a clothing store should look like.

Yuketen Fisherman Oxford

While the Country series from Yuketen definitely had us excited this spring, the Fisherman Oxford is another great looking, slightly more sturdy model that a couple of shops have picked up. The Bureau still his the tough spring shoe in a couple of sizes and it’s definitely well suited to be a year round choice with the nice Vibram sole.

Red Wing Sage Chukka Boot

In Vancouver we are still getting some borderline weather so boots aren't totally off the radar. That said, the chukka boot from Red Wing is nice and light weight, both in its upper and sole, which make it a more ideal choice for the spring or summer. This season they've introduced a new sage color which I am definitely a fan of. While I still might choose the suede sand first, this is a great option that adds a nice subtle touch of color.

Japanese brand Waste(twice) look to have another strong collection on their hands. While the brand isn’t one easily accessible for most of us, they continue to grow and thrive in Japan. These are a handful of the spring items that I particularly like.

Mark McNairy Snuff Suede Bucks

The Mark McNairy's footwear collection has been picked up by a number of great shops around the world, and why wouldn't it be. The styles are classic, there is enough variation so that each shop can have something unique, and they are made by one of the oldest shoe making companies out there. The clean suedes with soft leather lining and a simple red brick sole will be tough to beat for a spring shoe. They are light weight and look great with rolled denim or chinos with no socks. The snuff suede color is a great option for a darker version of the bucks which would sit nicely on a shelf next to navy and white.

45rpm have updated their website with their summer look book. It’s filled with some beautiful photography and very happy looking people, as usual. It seems to be set in Hawaii, or a tropic location of some sort. The soft tones, simple trousers, shirts and light weight jackets look amazing. Even if you’re not going to buy anything from the brand, it’s worth browsing through just for the shots and potential inspiration for other items you might want to pick up.

Sunny Sports Border Eazy Shorts

While the only Sunny Sports items that have made it to North America seem to be of the chambray shirt kind, the brand produces a nice selection of knits and some great shorts for the summer. The use of a slightly off-key pattern on shorts can be just right to liven up a simple summer outfit. These shorts by Sunny Sports would definitely do the job.
