New Workers Items

01

Images

—01. 2-pocket work shirt.
—02. Triple needle oxford.

Words

I've yet to order myself a personal piece from Workers, but with the latest update, I'm on the verge. Blue oxford and chambray are pretty much a daily guarantee, so both of these shirts would slide nicely into rotation. I've admired the brand and shop for a while, so it feels like its about time to try on one of their classic pieces.

Beams Plus Bow Ties

01

Images

—01. Camo & tartan bow ties.

Words

The bow tie seems to have had a pretty strong resurgence in the last couple years. Maybe it was always there and I hadn't really noticed, but it feels like they might even be easier, or more enjoyable to wear than a regular neck tie. Beams Plus are never ones to shy away from a playful print or color, so this spring they have made up their cotton bow ties in a classic tartan plaid, along with a more casual camouflage pattern.

Weekend Shopping: Linen Trays

01

Images

Words

For those of us that like our homes to look just as nice as our closet, sometimes we find ourselves lusting after an unexpected item. When I came across these linen trays at Brook Farm General Store I immediately was drawn to their natural tones and nice feel. The trays are definitely useful to have, but the fabric infused into them really makes them feel nice and gives them a natural and strong aesthetic.

Words

An exact reproduction of the cap worn by Mexican League team the Cordoba Cafeteros in 1957. Made in the USA from dark brown wool flannel, this is one of my favourite styles from Ebbets' vast selection of options.

Patrik Ervell Spring Items

—02. Denim club collar shirt.

Words

I've been a fan of Patrik Ervell's collections since I first saw them. The simplicity of most of the products combined with nice fabrics and a very restrained design always appealed to me. I've also always like blue and wearing multiple shades of it, so Ervell's collections have always been nice to look at on that tonal level as well. This spring is no different, simple shirting, jackets and chinos round off some of my favorite pieces.

J.Crew Pocket Squares

01

Images

—01. Indigo denim fabric.
—02. Sakura pattern.

Words

That sakura indigo pattern seems to be making its way around New York in the past couple of seasons, but I don't mind, its great. I've been hunting for it myself, but haven't been able to find the supplier since seeing The Hillside, FSC and Wayne Pate use it. J.Crew have found the swatch card however and made some neat little pocket squares. Both indigo dyed fabrics look great and would be a nice accent to pretty much any cotton garment I'd wear.

Edit: Hillside also have made pocket squares using this fabric, this season, which are now available at Context.

Red Wing Work Oxford

01

Images

—01. Work oxford in rough out leather.

Words

Red Wing is one of my favorite footwear brands, but I've found it challenging to get some of their boots and shoes lately. The work oxford particularly caught my eye when it released at the Rugged Museum. It's a great shoe, with a rugged aesthetic, but its not too heavy. Now that its released in a rough out leather, I am happy the timing worked with our first delivery from Red Wing. Besides the classic moc toe and chukka, we're happy to be one of the few shops to carry the work oxford.
