Nepenthes Braided Ring Belt

01

Images

—01. Available in brown and black.

Words

A braided ring belt has been on my mind for a little while but I couldn't recall ever actually seeing one, until today. It looks like Nepenthes has again answered the call and have done a nice version in brown leather with antiqued hardware. It's definitely a good looking belt and something I could see myself wearing pretty regularly.

In Stock: Mt. Rainier Design

01

Words

We received the latest addition to the Stockroom last week. We're big fans of Crescent Down Works, Sierra Designs and the like, but after getting a look at Mt. Rainier Design, we were confident this brand was best in class in terms of styling, fabrication, design and finishing. The 60/40 fabrics are great and come in rich, beautiful colors. The reversible down vests are definitely stand outs, but the slant pocket parka with grey wool lining can't be overlooked. And for those in need of a bit more warmth, the down parka in tan with a green interior is very classic. We also picked up some of their Nordic leggings for some great functional variation.

Fall Again: Workaday Cords

01

Images

—01. Burgundy.
—02. Tan.

Words

It's definitely getting into the heart of corduroy season as the colors of autumn fill the sidewalks and streets. Just in time for the season, The Bureau have received their fall shipment from Engineered Garments, including the Workaday collection. The cords come in five colors, but the olive, burgundy and tan are definitely my favorites. You can't go wrong with the straight leg, colors and details, but make sure you size up if you buy a pair online as they fit quite small.

Sophnet x Barbour

Words

I like Barbour, but its a brand that I've never felt too compelled to buy into. It's a classic and I've recommended it to people, but I just don't need one. That said, I would happily accept this one. With a couple of subtle updates, this makes for a very nice, tasteful collaboration.

Post Overalls Duck Pant

Words

I've been looking forward to the fall Post O'alls collection to start landing in stores. Finally Superdenim has their first delivery and these maroon duck cotton pants are my favorite of the bunch. The fabric is perfect for autumn and with a slightly tapered leg, flannel lined pockets and Post's sturdy construction, they look great. Definitely a nice option to have for those days when you want to give your jeans a break.

Honey vs Black

Words

I finally got a new bike this week. After months of ebay and Craigslist scouring, I felt like I found a good deal and got what I was looking for. It's even the right size for me, which is an added bonus. Now, I am torn over whether to go with black or honey leather goods for the seat, bar tape and anything else leather I would put on it. For me, it was brown or honey all the way, but the red and chrome tones of the bike makes me think black might just be the easiest and most classic. Yet, I can't shake the fact that I love the look of the light color leather - tough times...

Haversack Socks

01

Images

—01. Navy, green and red.
—02. Made in Japan.

Words

It feels like fall when I see socks like these starting to hit the shelves. What else do you need when it gets cold? Some nice Japanese cotton socks with a great color palette and nice design is definitely a good start. Sure, you might want some boots, a new pair of jeans and a nice sweat shirt - but then, its socks.

MWR 6" Work Boots

01

Words

Rest Store is one of downtown Manhattan's hidden retail gems. Their in-house line, Made With Rest, features an assortment of hand crafted and collaborative goods ranging from lighters and soap to shirts and footwear. One of the best products I've seen from the line lately is the MWR 6" Work Boot. I'm not normally a big fan of black footwear but the simple silhouette looks amazing here in thin roughout suede with green stitching on the low profile Vibram sole. The boots are loaded with detail thanks to a heel stamp, tongue tag and custom gold "MWR" eyelets. Made in USA with goodyear welt construction is always a good thing too. They're available at both the Rest Store and at the recently opened Nepenthes shop, where you can currently find a selected variety of goods from Rest Store.
