On display from Wednesday June 5th, New Abstract is a group show curated by Saskia Pomeroy and Printhouse Gallery's Ruth Hanahoe. Featuring abstract work in print, painting, ceramics and sculpture, the show aims to portray "a current movement in the vanguard of visual arts". Several friends of Inventory feature in the exhibition, including London designer Dean Edmonds, whose clear coated steel Floor Lamps will be on display and available for purchase.

There is just something about this shoe. I was tempted to purchase the updated Lunar version earlier this year, but held off, perhaps for these. The simple addition of the gum sole to the classic white or black leather upper sets them off just right.

Today, Donald Judd's birthday and exactly three years since the painstaking restoration process began, bookings are being taken for 101 Spring Street ahead of its opening on June 18th. In what has been the main objective and biggest challenge from the outset, visitors will be able to experience the artist's family home and studio from 1968 until his death in 1994 as it was originally installed. Each of the five floors is sparsely decorated with "pieces from his collection of over 500 objects, including original sculpture, paintings, drawings, prints, and furniture designed by Judd and others." Like many, I've been observing this process on visits to New York, and more closely via the Judd Foundation's amazing Restoration Image Newsreel, for some time. Being able to see inside, in person, is something I'm very much looking forward to.

A single breasted trench coat might just be about the most iconic piece of men's outerwear of the 20th century. Sometimes a trench coat treated with polyamide can look pressed and stiff but this one made by Esemplare in Italy is faded and rumpled making for a casual look.

Having worked with Joya to produce two great candle scents in the past, we have now collaborated with the Brooklyn based company to produce some incense. Rolled around a bamboo core and made in the traditional Masala style from white sage, vetiver and cedar, this blend gives off a rich aroma that is said to have spiritual cleansing powers and certain nice vibes.
