Patrik Ervell FW09

I really love Patrik Ervell's fall collection, the good parts. There are definitely a lot of pieces that aren't for me. A lot of the nylon, track jacket, shiny pieces just aren't for me. But when it comes to the speckled wool blazers, coats and knit sweaters, I'm in love. After looking through his collection in New York a couple weeks ago I knew it was going to be one of my favorites for fall. I had also known there would be a Common Projects collaboration but this is my first time seeing it. The lace-less officer shoe looks pretty great in the great in white and grey and compliments the collection really well. For me the wool over coat, sport coat pants and knits are the top picks and I am going to start saving up now. Yes he used a couple females for his mens show, yes they looked good, and yes I still want the pieces. Thanks to Mens.style for the images.

Red Wing Shoe Company FW09

It might be a little hard to get excited about Red Wing Shoe Company's fall offering as they have pretty much done the same boots for several decades now. One thing that is worth looking forward to is that the Wabasha collection will be landing in North America. I'm really a fan of this chukka boot, as I noted earlier, so I'm happy to know it will be available stateside in the near future. Also the company will be adding the chunky sole to the 875, as we saw J. Crew do together last year. A lot of people have been putting Red Wing on the top of the 'trendy work wear' list but I still have no problem wearing mine several times a week. It's a great American brand that has contributed a lot to the US and continues to make great boots today. Work wear trend or not, come this fall, I am definitely standing behind (and in) Red Wing. Rugby by Ralph Lauren

So far this spring I haven't seen very much from the RL collections that I have been very excited about. For the most part it's been a lot of bright colored polos, which I know are staples. The fall season had so many great coats and sweaters, how can they really keep it up in the spring? Well, this package of rowing inspired gear for the Rugby line is a pretty good way. The varsity cardigan is really nice. I love the stripe on the arm and the big 'R' makes sense with Ralph as well as Ryan. The baseball style jacket is actually pretty nice as well. I normally wouldn't like the writing on it, but for some unknown reason Ralph Lauren can pull it off. Lastly, the best. Well it just looks great. Canvas and leather with classic detailing, how can you go wrong? Available at Colette.

Antonio Azzuolo FW

I first came across Antonio Azzoulo's collection only a few weeks ago when I saw the spring looks. I am definitely a fan of the color palettes he used then, and I'm really liking the look for fall. The Italian's first signature collection should be showing up soon in select retailers and unfortunately the prices are expected to be comparable to RL Purple Label. On one hand, I am a bit sad because I can't afford it but it is pretty nice to look at, the other hand, I guess they are made really well... Potentially there might be an item or two that is attainable and while the styling overall could be spiced up a little, I feel the slacks, sport jackets and outerwear all look quite strong and again the classic color combinations look great.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Spring

The Woolen Mills collection is definitely one I've been looking forward this spring. The classic materials, loose fitting cuts and great attention to details by Mr. Suzuki have the line looking exactly as it should be. I think the shirting and light weight outerwear are the easy choices for spring and fall, while this seasons plaid patterns and corduroy shorts are looking very nice as well. I think it would be tough to go 100% into the collection, but I could definitely see myself with an item or two by the end of the season. Now available at Oi Polloi.

Sperry Fall/Winter

Sperry seems to be picking up the slack on their in house line and taking some cues from their consistent collaboration with Band of Outsiders. For fall they will be introducing this great looking mid top deck boot. These are some of the brighter colors that will be available while BoO will be offering the same model in grey wool this coming fall which looked great. I am really liking the look of the new model myself. I think it will lend itself to a lot of nice looks while offering something a bit different. Sperry hasn't tried to do too much yet which could easily happen, and has in our market. The loafers and wool low tops are also welcome models for the classic brand. You can be these will be fairly affordable as well which is a nice change from a lot of the footwear I usually want, I just hope that it won't all be available at every UO. Walk Off Pt. II

Now, please don't get too mad at my outfit this time...But round 2 of the Walk Off series is now up on Blacklodges. This time Mr. Vogel was just facilitating the battle as I took on Nick and Chris Schonberger. The east coast brothers seem to be bracing for cold weather, hunting large animals, rain (at the strip club) and some basketball. Blue seems to be the color of spring 09 so I went with a lot of different blues for my look. I think it's still an extremely easy to wear composition that would do well anytime, anywhere. Of course the chinos would be rolled and the comfort level would be high. I had to include a couple of my favorite items that got blogged in the last week as well since they've stayed on my mind. That cardigan is killing me though. For the price I know I couldn't even get it for 50% probably, but the suede bucks are in stock in my size, for a more manageable price... Marsell Travel Bag

If you're looking for an affordable leather travel bag, this unfortunately isn't the one. At 50% off right now, it's still sitting at $1,098 US. Other than that the bag looks beautiful. I really like the brown leather tone of the bag and the black zippers and hard ware feel like they go really nicely together. The strap placement does seem a bit odd to me, but I can't say its bad until I was able to pick up the bag and give it a good test. The handles and shoulder strap look well balanced and I can imagine how great it would look after a year or two of use. It's pretty difficult to find a great duffle bag for a really solid value I find, especially in all leather. Perhaps this bag is actually of great value if you get it for half price, but the price range is so far up there that most of us would probably have to live on the streets for a month to pay for it.
