Words

These handmade ties by Jim Christensen are immaculate. From the shape to the labels to the incredible deadstock fabrics, they are really nicely made. The redish brown shirting fabric is especially nice, and my choice of the new batch. Circa 1920-30s, it's a great weight and the color is rather unique.

Words

Ryan's recent post highlighted some of the up-close-and-personal elements found in the new fall line produced by Nike and Jun Takahashi's Gyakusou International Running Association. Thanks to Honeyee there's now a broader look at the garments and shoes themselves, alongside plenty of behind the scenes imagery from the recent Running Monks campaign, and lots to read; if you read Japanese. I personally think this has been a consistently well executed and interesting collaboration, and I this third season might well be my favourite yet.

I've mentioned this before but I quite often find myself arriving late to the party. In this most recent figurative case I have only just begun to pay closer attention to a title I'd seen on various tables and racks over the last several years. Of course I'm now cursing my lazy thumbs, and figuring out how best to play it off like I've been wise to this publications excellence from the get-go. Kaleidoscope Magazine is an international arts and culture quarterly, but I won't attempt to summarize the varied and interesting content that's on offer each issue here. Instead I'll just recommend you find a copy posthaste, and join me in pretending you've had it on your bookshelf all along.
