Our friend Kyle Garner is getting ready to re-launch his new website for Sit and Read early next month. The anticipation has been growing, especially for a furniture website, shop and blog. Kyle's mix of vintage pieces and customized designs create an interesting variety of products. As a teaser, Kyle in partnership with Part & Parcel have put together a short film showing the making of one of the latest chairs in Kyle's on-going collaboration with Unis.

F.I.L.

Words

Visvim is without doubt one of the most amazing brands of our time. From the beautiful product to the branding to their unforgettable retail experience, the Japanese label has created something truly unique. Hiroki Nakamura really has an eye for detail far beyond the stitching in a shirt or the leather on his shoes. His vision for his brand is showcased beautifully in these photos of the Kyoto and Tokyo F.I.L. stores. The balance of new, vintage, rugged, slick and the general color palette is perfect. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't partially influenced by Visvim when we created our shop, and I'd also be lying if I said this sort of execution was easy.

The Real McCoy's: Fall Goods

Words

Although we still have a couple more items and a couple pieces to be re-stocked from The Real McCoy's, I am always excited to look, touch and wear this brand. The quality is second to none, it fits great and works for anybody. There isn't one piece that we have from McCoy's that I don't personally like and couldn't wear with several others that we have. The M-65 jacket is especially nice, along with the great sweatshirts.

An interview with Marilyn Neuhart, author of "The Story of Eames Furniture", and her husband John. Both have worked with the Eames Office in various capacities from the 1950s. Having been in close proximity to Charles and Ray Eames as well as the members of the Eames Office and their patron manufacturers for almost 30 years, the Neuharts had the extraordinary opportunity to absorb their stories. At their Los Angeles home, they tell the tale of working with Charles Eames in Gestalten.tv's latest look behind the Eames.

A.P.C. Knit Crewneck

Words

I came across this sweater last week at Gravity Pope Tailored Goods and quite liked it. Although I haven't purchased anything from A.P.C. for quite a while, I find that I am liking the brand more and more these days. Besides the quilts that are currently available in their stores, this sweater also looks really nice and feels just as good.

Post Overalls Canvas Engineer Jacket

01

Images

—01. Lined with check flannel shirting fabric.

Words

We already featured Post Overalls' pants in the same burgundy canvas color - can you tell I like it? The Engineer Jacket adds some flannel shirt lining to keep you warm, and to offer a nice contrast to the muted exterior. The black and white gingham check looks great and I can easily think of a bunch of shirt/sweatshirt options that would look great with this piece.
