Anachronorm Spring Jackets

Words

Anachronorm has been on our radar for a couple of seasons now and after a careful inspection in Tokyo last fall, I was definitely still impressed. The brand has just made it’s debut in the US by way of Union LA. Chris Gibbs continues to bring in new labels, usually from Japan, and Anachronorm is a welcomed member to their very nicely edited stocklist. The spring jackets offer something different between the more traditional work wear chore coat, completely with a nice lining and corduroy collar – definitely the easier of the too. It comes in two nice color options while the dip dyed jacket looks a bit crazy in the image on its own, when styled nicely, it can look great.

MHL Drill Trousers

Words

While the Margaret Howell collection continues to improve and be one of the most impressive season after season, their place in the Japanese market can’t be overlooked. With their strong retail presence comes the push for more items and unfortunately some of the great pieces only get released overseas, even with great hometown shops in London. These cotton drill trousers from the MHL line are really nice looking and have a number of details I’m often looking for.

Unis Gio Shorts

01

Images

—01. Made in New York, USA.

Words

More shorts are starting to arrive in shops in preparation for summer and another great looking pair come courtesy of Unis. Nomad have just received some stock from the New York brand including the Gio chino shorts and pants, in a couple of classic summer colors. These would be extremely easy to wear in the summer and assuming they are as good as the Gio pants, the fit will be perfect.

In Stock: Yuketen Sport Chukka

Words

The Yuketen spring collection has been one of the most anticipated this season - at least in my own mind. There were a lot of great models, leathers and new styles but I felt that the three we choose for the Stockroom made a great little collection. Going with crepe soles across the board, a slight variety of brown leathers and suede and three very strong shoes. The Sport Chukka is the last of the three we ordered for the spring and they just arrived today. As usual, they look even better then I remembered from last summer.

Challenger Chambray

Words

Challenger is quickly becoming one of my new favourite brands with pieces like this. Their twist on a simple chambray shirt here is brilliant I think. Taking the classic reference of a bandana pattern and using it on the cuffs and collar provide for some great detail when worn underneath a sweatshirt or maybe another shirt. The hits on the flap pockets tie the whole shirt together for when it’s worn on its own, and it’d be a great option if you’re still unsure on wearing a neckerchief too. It’s the kind of shirt that’s seemingly a bit crazy but it’s so well done it almost feels natural and once on would feel totally normal and simply just look good.

Words

Hypebeast continue their push of online content with another interesting interview, this time with Self Edge’s Kiya Babzani. I feel like I’ve read a good handful of conversations with the retailer in the last few years, but he’s always working on something new and is just generally an interesting guy. The feature includes some nice photographs, good questions and light hearted answers – all worth checking out.

Look: Just Another Day

01

Images

—01. A couple Stockroom goodies.

Words

Sometimes getting dressed is just as easy as it should be. The staples of spring often work just as well all year round, but they look particularly nice as the weather turns and the lighter tones come together. The socks are left behind and the layers are light and comfortable.

Wigwam Cypress Socks

01

Images

—01. All three great options.
—02. Close up.

Words

While best suited for the cold, wool socks are not just a winter fixture. These Cypress socks from Wigwam, one of the grand daddy’s of the wool sock world, are certainly proof of that. The softer spring colours marled with white are perfect for use with a boot or if you throw caution to the wind and wear with some sandals (preferably Birkenstock Bostons please). Wigwam construction is excellent too although I’m not sure if these have the fitted sole and foot bridge elastic. I’m hoping I can find some at Mark’s rather than having to look overseas.
