Neighborhood + Viberg Bobcat Boot

nbhd-viberg-bobcat-boot1Hopefully you read Ryan’s report on Viberg in the 24th issue of Monocle. They’re one of the finest and most respected boot companies in the world and have been handcrafting their iconic footwear in Canada since 1931. While not in any way a fashion brand, they’re still happy to work with others on more contemporary products. The Bobcat is great in isolation but in collaboration with Neighborhood, an even more beautiful boot has been created. I always like multi-tone footwear and these are a perfect example of how well it can work. Combining different shades of leather and suede may seem simple enough but as I’ve mentioned before, exercising control in collaboration always produces the best results. Neighborhood’s boot updates a classic but still keeps Viberg’s heritage in mind and when working with anything traditional that’s never a bad thing.

Visvim Oneida Workshirt

visvim-fw-workshirtVisvim's fall collection continues to release with some nice shirting. Falling into the category of another work shirt, Visvim let theirs stand out with top notch cottons and interesting use of color in the arm sections of the shirts. The subtle tonal shades used are great accents that make the shirt different enough from the other five work shirts in my closet. I plan on picking up a couple items from Visvim's fall offering and it could very easily end up being one of these shirts and some chinos. These ones are only available online right now, but should be hitting stateside retailers in the near future.

Nom de Guerre Fall Items

shootingngd-rwNom de Guerre’s fall collection has now hit shops including End, Roden Gray and their very own space in New York. The entire collection is launched today at NDG’s flagship store - one of the best retail spaces in North America. Collection No. 9 features a muted colour palette and the formal military references we’ve come to expect and love. This fall is one of their best collections with heavy wools, interesting soft blends and some really great looking blazers and knitwear. The sweaters are always our favorite part of the collection which is why we’ve brought a couple of options into The Shop this fall. Starting to work with Nom de Guerre, we wanted to introduce the collection with our top picks from this season. The lambswool V neck is probably my favorite piece right now, followed by the amazing shawl collar cardigan. A few accessories and a serious woolen blazer close out our tight-knit offering - pun intended. Visit The Shop or get down to Nom de Guerre in New York to see the full collection. ts(s) Bio Canvas Cropped Work Pant

tss-work-pant-2I always like to have a couple of slightly baggier trouser options for winter. I think it may have something to do with footwear. I tend to wear Tricker's or Red Wing and like the look of both with a wider leg. These ts(s) work pants play that role perfectly. As you can see from the lookbook image, the width of the trouser and height and heaviness of the boots combine really well. Don't underestimate the value of the cropping either. EG's winter trousers tend to favour a similar silhouette but you often need to play with their length to create a good look. Beyond the styling, the fabric is also worth highlighting. Bio canvas is not only durable but also produced without chemical fertilisers, pesticides or genetic modifiaction. Then there's the colours; all three are great. The mustard might be a little harder to pull off but with navy, brown and olive, it could look fantastic. The other two are much more accessible and extremely versatile. I'll admit the width and cropping do make these unusual but I think with the right boots and a nicely layered top half, they offer a really interesting alternative. tss-lookbook-imagetss-work-pant-3tss-work-pant-1

South 2 West 8 Homespun Field Coat

south2west8-field-costThis tweed field coat is one of the best looking casual sport coats you'll see this fall. Designed for duck and bird hunting, the warm wool is long wearing and soft to the touch. The collar, cuff and gun patch are lined with cotton velvet and the two layer body is supposed to be cozy and comfortable. I really like this brown version but I highly doubt the grey option is any worst. South 2 West 8 has put together probably their best collection to date this fall, this piece of outwear is one of many I would be happy to wear, unfortunately the distance between an available retailer and myself is quite big. It's worth browsing their website at the full collection in catalog format.

Present | London Pt.2

present-4If you read my post on Saturday, you already know that Present opened in London last Friday. When I took the first set of photographs there was a lot going on so it was quite difficult to get clean shots of the overall space. With that in mind, I went back this week to take a few more pictures and have a chat about what else they'll be receiving this season. In addition to the brands I mentioned last week, other things to look forward to include Wings+Horns, Studio D'Artisan, Rocky Mountain Featherbed, Yuketen and Mackintosh. That's for winter but come spring an even wider selection is being lined up. I hope these images give you a better idea of the space itself. As you can see, paying them a visit is well worth your while. Present 140 Shoreditch High Street London 020 7033 0500 present-2present-3present-14

Supreme Fall Outerwear

supreme-fw-09-outwearI’ve been anxiously awaiting the fall season from Supreme this year. With what I felt was a really strong spring collection, the cut and sew and outwear from the New York based brand continue to look better and better every 6 months. This fall’s collection is now being previewed on their site. I’m sure you’ll see a lot of pictures soon, but out of the gate, these are a few of the outwear pieces I’m interested in. I’m happy to see Supreme will be feeding my camouflage infatuation this season - the fishtail parka would be a great addition to my closet. The parka is probably my top choice from the batch, coming in red, khaki and black, it’s sure to be popular and sell out quickly. The Timberline jacket is also a nice piece, feeling a lot like a Barbour, but a little more stripped down and straight forward, which I like. I had to round out the jackets with a nice looking knit which would work well with layers of wool and chambray. Overall, I’m excited to see the rest of the collection and another strong season from Supreme. See more at Supreme
